well over $90k for a near fully optioned DCT F8X M3… if you add carbon ceramic brakes ($8,500) you’re into 6 figures before tax.
…
for some guys this will mean a cheaper and better equipped car than the E9X.
even though the base price is higher; 19" wheels now come standard as does navigation and a few other things that were part of big optional packages on the E9X. Also, with the weight reduction and all the CF bits considered the base price is actually really good… for US buyers anyways. In Canada the base prices are about $9k - $11k higher.
here is the CDN ordering guide with the options etc.

The 4 door could be a nearly practical dd for me. Thanks for posting the order info Bing.
BAN NOW
spent a solid 30 minutes in and out of the F80 at the Toronto Auto Show yesterday; even demanded that one of the reps go get they keys so that i could put it into accessory and play with the idrive.
the car looks nice and tight in person. the front bumper is still a bit busy but the proportions overall are awesome. The fact that they cut 150lbs out of this thing is awesome…and then considering all of the extra standard options and new stuff available (carbon brakes for one) i think this is a nice step forward for the M3/M4.
one thing that blew my mind, on the idrive toggle, you can use your finger and draw on the top of it like an etchasketch instead of scrolling to letters or numbers when entering an address in the GPS… it’s fucking wicked.
Still though, gotta wait and see what they add to the 2016 model… waiting for the LCI upgrade and the competition package.
I can’t wait to see it. My dad just ordered a 435i M sport for Euro Delivery, wish he could have waited for an ///, but he really needed a car.

Chris Harris’ review:
Hopefully this new twin snail 6 has the same super strong rotating assembly as the n54. Would be a shame if a fbo 335i/135i n54 poops on these like they do to e9x m3’s.

i was in a new 3 series (non-M) the other day and i’m really looking forward to seeing what software and coding options come out for this.
there are so many little features added and so many possibilities that a feature coding and performance coding (remote) session could change these cars 100%.
i’ll also take Chris Harris’s review to heart… it will still be a couple years before getting one though. they’re going to be so much better after a couple updates anyways. also, there is the speculation of the M2 coming out as well…
I personally am more excited for the m2 and what kind of setup it will have. Some say a turbo 4cyl is in the works.

new F80 M3 dynos out at 424rwhp and 425rwtq… friggin SIIIQQQQ!!!
these things appear to be severely underrated. they are listed at 425hp/406tq
they are dynoing consistently at 50-60rwhp and ~120rwtq higher than the E9X M3 which would put it around 465-480bhp&tq and it comes in at about 120 - 180lbs lighter depending on spec.
it’ll be a couple years before I seriously look at getting one but i’m really hoping for a test drive in the near future.
That is pretty sweet, however who knows how that dyno “reads”. Looks like the power comes on tires spinning early too, I like that.

this is EAS who is a pretty reputable place and have done 100+ E9X runs on that dyno. the comparative numbers posted are on the same dyno between E9X and F8X… same dyno, same conditions across hundreds of samples… albeit with only a handful of F8X dynos thus far.
either way, the delta is relevant.
so what are their E9x numbers like stock on that dyno and are they low or high?
either way this next M3 will be great.
stock on that dyno is 350-360rwhp… which is what i got on a dynapack as well
That’s pretty fuckin gangster not gonna lie
another EAS dyno run put down 421whp and 410wtq with STD correction
