I was looking around and I know Lateral G does not say what car handels better, but it does give a good idea about how much holding power the car does have. and well a new s13 rates around .87-.89G and the Rsx-S is aroud .86-.87 G.
Remember these test were also done with 195 tires on the S13,
so I can not see how the RSX is going to Spank the s13 if they were used equaly from new.
and that’s also on the shittiest michelin stock tires that come with my car… anyway… after spending all the money to make your S13 or whatever BRAAAAND NEW to compete… in just the handling aspect… (because power it would never stock for stock, obviously)… you might as well buy a new fuckin car or an 89-90 skyline gt-r imported since you’re such a nissan fanatic
That is what I am getting at, you can not compair the two cars also becsaue of the fast that there is over 10 years difference, Again I never said that the 240 is the best car in the world, hahaha not even close.
but really, that is the problem here. I was just using that as a comparison if you were to compair the cars stock for stock brand new. jsut remember what you paied for you car. I am talking about cars that can be had for $1500.
if I has the $$ for a newer car you would see me in a WRX(sti),02 350Z, or 97c5
so a 89/90 skyline will handle better then my 92 s13 because its from japan ? or because its a skyline…
its still just as old and all the bushings will be dried out. shocks/springs may not have many km’s on them but their still over 15yrs old
and you could easily make an s13 “brand new” to compete without spending huge amounts of money.
how about you go buy a brand new RSK and soup it up and I’ll go buy an S13 and soup it up. even after I buy everything to make it “Brand New” I will be way under the cost of your RSX
I can’t believe all this shit about RSX v.s 240sx is still going on WTF?
RSX owner: “My car can do this better blah blah blah”
240 owner: “My car can do that better blah, blah, blah”
STFU Talk is cheap take it to the track and that’s it. Talking doesn’t prove anything, seeing is believing. Im suprised this thread is not locked yet.
In regards to what every one is saying. Ever car that was mentioned has been built what it was designed for.
the civic an economy car
the sentra an economy car
the rsx a mild sports car
the 240 a mild sports car
the s2000 a sports car of honda
the 350z a sports car of nissan
But if you want to talk about moding a car… Thats a different story all together. And after market turbo kit on a b16 pulls “for what it is”. But same with with a turbo kit a ka24de…
But you can’t compare two cars that have 15 years diference technolgy has changed drasticaly (rsx vs s13). But if his car out performs the new one with only X amount of dollars sunk into it. a pat on the back he deserves exspeacily if it was way less then you payed for yours. But he also just bought a 15 year old car. So he will get all the hassels that come with it. But if he rights it off he is done paying for it (in some cases).
Don’t get me wroung i will gladly choose a 240 over a civic any day. But to each there own. Just don’t go shooting your mouth off if you throw a cold air intake on in, No matter what you drive; because there is alway someone quiker.
Hhehehe sorry but i just want to chime in for your information.
I/RH/E and hondata#4 reflash would give you around 200WHP
I personally have I/RH/E and MugenECU that pushes 204WHP on 17" aftermarket rims (roughly 5LB heavier then each stock wheel - 20lb total for rotational mass). If i had stock wheels i would guess i cn break 210WHP. (stock- forged, aftermarket-cast)
Now back to RSX vs 240sx, there are few advantages and disadvantage that most of you may already see. One thing i’m sure none of you guys know is K-Pro for RSX. K20 series engine has mazing ECU technology, K-pro is a fully programmable ECU for it. From my search, its second to NONE.
That is one reason why most of tunning mags has been featured on K series for months now, especially build as race engine.
Sunk2 RSX NA with ITBs and all motor push 345WHP, running 9s.
K20 stock internal is amzingly strong. I mention this as one of you assumed it needs internal upgrades for 12s.
Turbo-charged K20 running 15psi would give you ~340whp. And thats on stock internal with dyno tune. One have run 18psi pushing close to 390WHP.
From my research, reliability of running boosted engine is all in tunning. K20 has superior KPro to offer that. Heck i have seen 8psi boosted blown a motor and the guy was only street tune, doesnt know shit.
The most common upgrade for high boost is triple plate head gasket to decrease compression.
havin owned a Type R and driven an RSX-s
I would never own one no LSD, way too heavy it doesn’t feel as raw
as my ITR i think they look pretty good tho but no way would i ever get an rsx! also i heard the trany’s are shitty i think on the earlier models?
the K series motors however are pretty good and yeah they’ll make lots of power reliable N/A there’s an K20 motor making 300whp i read on on honda tech…
also if you watched american togue batle, the white EG hatch with the K24 swap was just insane i think they gave it second place overall just loosing to the STi
if you want to classifie a s2000 or 350z as a sports car. then they would have to be the milder version… But if I am not mistaken most if not all throw them under the category of a sports car
Wrong, who told you tranny is shitty? You have been greatly misformed. The flaw is the gear grinds due to synchro. Using sync tranny fluid like ReadLine, Motul fixed it. ( and this isnt out of ordinary either, many great cars has gear grinds — STi , Evo, even Supra)
ABout LSD well, any modified motor should upgrade clutch and flywheel right? thro LSD in at the same time wouldnt cost you more than few hundreds.
SO if thats what you dont like about RSX-S then no worries.
Seriously ITR was fast and all but its outdated, even modified ITR looking to swap the 6-speed tranny from 02+ ITR or RSX-S. The gearing of RSX is amazing, third gear pulls like no others.
I have raced ITR with CAI and exhaust ( i believe he got header as well just didnt look inside). I… raped him. THats all i can say.
The old ITR body does give a bit of an edge in handling, very small margin tho. Upgrade suspension on both cars would close the gap.
Dude a 240sx doesn’t compare to an RSX the S13/S14 both have late 1980’s technology they compare to integras and Preludes that were around in the 240sx era.
The last year for the 240sx in North America was 1998, 4 years before the RSX even came out! If you want to compare the RSX to a Nissan product in the same era you have to compare it to the S15 silvia. You got to realize that in the late 80’s if a 4 cylinder came with 150 horsepower it was like a miracle people were like wowwww! Most V8’s were only pushing like 200 to 250 HP from the factory back then, now we have 4 cylinders that push 300 HP from the factory. So if your going to compare cars make sure they are from the same era so that you are comparing apples to apples and Im sure in many years from now someone will be having this same discusion like ours and they will be saying “Back in the early 2000’s most 4 cylinders came with only 300 HP or less now our 2 cylinders come with 600 horsepower +!” LOL

I agree, no comparison… so why dont you guys start showing some love to cars other than the rust buckets of ontario?? (240s) I’m not referrin to you… you seem to be more open minded than most… but at least when I had a 240sx i still respected hondas… you guys think your cars are so fast… its hilarious.
