It depends on the results you are looking for. IE fastest 5k marathon etc etc
Strictly for fitness and fat burning HIIT sprints they are great if that is what you mean…although im sure the 17miles I ran yesterday wont result in a beer belly anytime soon.
I did a real similar route the other day. Just started using runkeeper and its pretty cool. Deff like it. I haven’t really attempted a fast run yet. I was happy to be running ~9min avg only a few days after running 17mi with spam. Once this marathon is over I am going to try to get back into running shorter races in ~8min avg. pace.
im still laid up with some serious inflammation issues goin on in my lower back. Waiting to hear back from the insurance company on authorization for an MRI and shit.
Officially re-started my training last night. I have my schedule mapped out until September.
Question for the seasoned runners; This will be my first marathon, and I want to run in Honolulu for December 9th. Is it safe/healthy to run my first marathon in September, recover, then build up again to run in December? I’ve heard that two marathons in your first year can be dicey but with 3 months in between, I’m thinking my body will have plenty of time to recover. Thoughts?
So i’ve been running quite a bit and now have a pretty nagging pain about 4 inches above the ball on my ankle (on the bone, outside of my leg) It doesn’t hurt when sitting but when I walk I can feel it (iI’d say the pain is about a 5 out of 10, more annoying than anything) If I run my hand over it and apply pressure it’s pretty tender. It’s been like this for two or three weeks… should I get it checked?
