Official Running Thread!!!!!!

It depends on the results you are looking for. IE fastest 5k marathon etc etc

Strictly for fitness and fat burning HIIT sprints they are great if that is what you mean…although im sure the 17miles I ran yesterday wont result in a beer belly anytime soon.

^We should test that out. BEER!

I <3 Beer

Agreed. I am speaking in terms of fitness, fat burning, and long term effects on your joints.

The three century bike rides, and a full marathon I have less than 30 days is why I’m doing what I’m doing.

I’m pretty good at drinkin beer but can always use more practice

^LOL

After being lazy I ran the Delaware Park loop a couple times. I really thought I was running at like an 11/12 min/mi pace.

I did a real similar route the other day. Just started using runkeeper and its pretty cool. Deff like it. I haven’t really attempted a fast run yet. I was happy to be running ~9min avg only a few days after running 17mi with spam. Once this marathon is over I am going to try to get back into running shorter races in ~8min avg. pace.

Added you to my street team.

Wish we had that last push I pulled out of my ass on there…

im still laid up with some serious inflammation issues goin on in my lower back. Waiting to hear back from the insurance company on authorization for an MRI and shit.

lame.

Officially re-started my training last night. I have my schedule mapped out until September.

Question for the seasoned runners; This will be my first marathon, and I want to run in Honolulu for December 9th. Is it safe/healthy to run my first marathon in September, recover, then build up again to run in December? I’ve heard that two marathons in your first year can be dicey but with 3 months in between, I’m thinking my body will have plenty of time to recover. Thoughts?

You actually have to run…

So i’ve been running quite a bit and now have a pretty nagging pain about 4 inches above the ball on my ankle (on the bone, outside of my leg) It doesn’t hurt when sitting but when I walk I can feel it (iI’d say the pain is about a 5 out of 10, more annoying than anything) If I run my hand over it and apply pressure it’s pretty tender. It’s been like this for two or three weeks… should I get it checked?

I had pain in the same area, was told it was a high ankle sprain, but never got a “full” diagnosis or any thorough scans…

PS - that was a serious run Cougar, let me know next time you guys bang one of those out

Paulo that is plenty of time but everyones starting platform is different. You seem to be in good shape already so i wouldn’t sweat it.

Bigwooooooooooode - either tomorrow or friday! 20mi going down

twat time fggt?

Depends if im hungover tomorrow. Also im not running 3+hrs in the rain again. :fu:

I’ll be running tomorrow…probably only 5 though. You also know you’re a hockey fan when you run to Marek vs. Wyshynski podcasts

Check this out. It uses runkeeper which I already use and means I don’t need to carry my phone with me. It’s got $8.2 million in backers.

My fiancee loves her MotoActv though.

<EDIT>
N/m uses GPS from your phone
