Official Running Thread!!!!!!

Week before the marathon in Rochester. Hmmm let me ponder on it but it is a strong possibility. When do you want to go for a ride? I have been swimming a bunch and each session is a marked improvement since I had not really been in a pool for 15 years. I would like to work on my bike speed but don’t like to bike too far alone just incase something goes wrong.

To both you and prog. Go get real running shorts with liners. You can even borrow some of my short shorts to try it out. Sooooooooooo much more comfortable. Shit I might just start running in a speedo.

Same ones I showed you the other day, minimalists. I’m going to pick up a pair of the Nike Lunarglides if I ever get time. Wed I have work then Karate. Let me know what time it’s at.

yep, did a couple half marathons with that setup. that and some body glyde on the nips and im set

I need bandaids. Body glyde doesnt cut it for me, I’m sensitive.

2.25 miles yesterday @ Fort Niagara again. Took two breaks in between we did a little cross training.

Grabbed my new personal record of 20:52 for a 5k. Nice to see Geoff and lots of other runner friends! Good Times

I had high hopes for my run but really did not pace well. 23:55 finish. Meh

Had a blast though.

I actually really gave a poor effort. This short stuff is way out of my element and somewhat frustrating. Was starting too slow. Now starting too fast. Then when I am not happy with the time after 2.5ish I give a poor finish. Always next time!

What’s the next 5k in the queue

I started off with a 6min mile for my first mile… it was not good for the rest of the run, but I still managed to pull it off!

Tsi that is sweet. When I start too fast I get winded and can’t recover or hold the pace. I think I still could have pulled it off too with some more heart in it. I deff got frustrtated and stopped pushing. I can’t complain though since I think I still did like a 7:40ish pace and that is decent for me. But I know I can do ~7:30!!! I only do one speed day a week in my training now so I will see next week if I can do better.

Currently my training schedule weekly is roughly
1x speed run
1x distance run
1x recovery run distance pace
2x swimming(1 pool 1 open water ideally)
1x Core and strength workout

I need to get time on the bike in there somewhere

Ran 5.35 @ 8:52/mile last night in the rain. I love running in the rain. :slight_smile:

I just went for a swim. Which wasn’t great. Could not get a groove going and actually cut the swim short. WTF. I think I need lessons. Paddled around about 45min

Then jammed a 6mi run @ 8:43 pace right after. Running after swimming is kinda hard for a few miles at first.

she doesnt like to run the whole time so its about 2 miles of running followed by half mile intervals after that.

UB North gym. Wanna start coming? There are a few options closer but I really like it there.
