Oh and the fiancee came in just under 1:40:00 with a 1:39:50. She knocked off 35 minutes from this race last year lol!

Edit: I came in 49th overall and 8th in my age group… (25-30) or whatever.

Damn! Very impressive. Good luck to Drew!

4:35 finish! Not bad!!!

I really kinda snky was shooting for a ~4 but let me bring out my ricer excuses but really here some race notes and what went on

Some of you might know I have had some hip and knee issues the last few weeks and decided to not train hard the last two weeks basically and kept volume low
Today I decided to try to run in a knee brace thinking that the stability would help.
Well being my body wasn’t used to it and i was flying blind here it turned out to be a terrible idea. Taking way the natural motion was a terrible call.

  • 8mi in at 8:20 pace(stoked) bam knee ll but physically locks up. Im not quitting was my only thought It froze so bad that for miles I kept sitting down to stretch.
  • 10mi in knee finally slightly back in the game 9:30 pace avg now. Yeah it really called it a day for me
  • Around mile 7 it was no longer paved for about 10 miles. This really was a bummer
  • Miles 7 - 22 WIND!!! WIND!!! WINDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!
  • HOLY SHIT we ran into good headwind all afternoon
  • Finished pretty strong
  • Given knee cost literally 15-20min of sitting and wincing pain all day combined with the wind I am pretty happy to have another completed marathon behind me with a 4:35 finish.

Icing my knee now. :frowning:

No matter what, YOU FINISHED. That’s what matters most.

Nice job.

Thanks man. Also I did the Buffalo like 30min slower and it was a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy easier race day so to drop 30min this year I am pretty happy. Can’t wit to get healed up and get going again. Probably sticking to the pool for a few weeks though.

Rest up! I am impressed. So nervous about our marathon in October. Great job though! Like jager said 26.2 is 26.2 no matter how long it took.

Thanks man and you will kill it. Being you actually trained and all lol.

Congrats buddy…heel up for Oct. 13th.

Also, I may have ran by your old lady on friday if she was at spot.

Tough Mudder local next year… got a friend starting a team if anyone is interested. KB just had a similar event beginning of Sept.

Congrats Drew! That’s huge.

The Finn McCool challenge was an awesome time. I am definitely doing the tough mudder.

Leng from way back on DITB is on the one team. They’re just all doing the sign up together for team benefits, so if you want the info, signup is like $130 and goes up exponentially as time goes on.

Jammed a 23mi Bike Ride today after skipping running yesterday. Rode half with Drew.

Endomundo Pro is $.25 for android today… thinking about switching… might buy it just in case.

How does the tracker affect your data plans?? I wouldn’t mind using it but I only have 2 Gigs a month.
