According to my data usage Between Sept 20th and today, RunKeeper has used 250 KB of data. I had mine going for 2 hours yesterday. TSI, even if you never use that app again, you’re only out $.25

I used woman logic on it too, $.25? why not…

Haven’t ran in a week post marathon. Went for a nice easy 12mi bike ride yesterday. Feeling pretty well rested and recovery went well. Might jam some asy miles today sometime if anyone is interested. HLLR

I use runkeeper as well. Ran 4 miles yesterday morning on Santa Monica beach. Only averaged 8:32 pace :frowning: haven’t ran in weeks.

this was my logic too, going to try it out tonight for a quick 10 miler. BTW Runkeeper has been fucking up my pace a lot lately. IE: telling me I am running a 9:30 pace when I know I am in the low 8’s or even high 7’s. Also it will tell me I am doing 4 mm at times when I know I cannot achieve that lol. At the end of a run it ends up being accurate, but during it lies to me. I dont like this. We will see what endomundo can do for me.

Oh, and the fiancee and I went for a potential 22 miler on friday, it ended up to be a disaster. Both of us had about 1 glass of water all day before the run. Then we ran 7 miles and stopped to get some water at Duncan Donuts for a glass of water and a Gu. Then we continued on. well 10 miles later I thikn we were hit with dehydration because we could hardly move. This is when we realized rehydrating would not happen fast enough to finish the run… Upsetting. Marathon is in 2 weeks! Eek

Dude I have totally been picked up before! Hydration is tough to manage. Do you take any salt tabs? Were you cramping or were you just shot?

I don’t think I’ve been picked up, but I walked home after my calf muscles totally locked up. It basically felt like someone was on both ends of the muscle pulling as hard as they could. I’ve also had to stop from chest pains.

We don’t use salt tabs, but we do use Gu. I only use 2 for 22… which probably isn’t enough. We were dead at that point plus to walk home would of meant walking the 5 miles we had left… which would of been FOREVER and painful. When we got home my fiancee, Sarah couldn’t even drink or eat her stomach was all in knots. It was bad.

I always thought it was funny when people said, he died from running. I now understand how it is possible.

I drink about 20 “glasses” of water a day, key with me is that I use MIO to flavor the water into peach tea, otherwise I can’t just drink water

My urine hasn’t been yellow in like 6 months lol

edit: I’m sure a lot of you’s know but drinking that much water def. helped me look cut, keeps your skin tight to your muscles =)

I switched from drinking iced tea or energy drinks at work to buying a 32oz bottle filled with water. Drank lots of beer this past weekend though.

I’m an EMT with a fire department. One of my first call was to a roadside when a “seasoned” 18 y o runner had collapsed and died. He ran the same route everyday (family stated). He knew enough to stay hydrated, but sometimes it isn’t enough. I remember doing CPR on him and his skin felt like leather. Dry and course… the doctor said his body basically ran out of sweat… always remember, it isn’t what you’re drinking right before or during your run, as much as what you drank the night before… Alcohol, and soda can kill you… I’m sure you guys all know this stuff, but seeing that at only 21 myself, and being a competitive boxer, I use to drink a lot the night before my long runs. I never wanted my boxing to get in the way of my social life…until I saw that kid, who really wasn’t much younger than I was… f’ed me up for a while…

Lol, the Berlin Marathon winning time was 2:04:15…That is fucking unfathomable to me. Apparently in 2005 Sarah Palin ran her first marathon in 3:59.

Oprah pulled a 4:30 or something.

I drink beer maybe 2 -3 times a month. I pretty much only drink water, with the occasional iced tea or fruit punch. Its the damn cupcakes that get me :stuck_out_tongue:
