So I realized again why I’d never own a bike. In less than a quarter mile, I watch a guy pull out of a gas station (on his bike) get cut off 5 seconds later… then again 5 more seconds later by another car. I thought the dude was doomed.

A motorcyclist from Perry, N.Y. has died after slamming into two dirt bikes Sunday night in Livingston County.
The Batavia Daily News reports that Anthony Pries, 25, plowed his motorcycle into the bikers who were on the shoulder of the road along York Road West near Federal Road in York.
Pries, a passenger on his motorcycle, and the operator of one of the dirt bikes were flown to Strong Hospital in Rochester. Pries sustained serious head injuries and later died.
Two others were transported by ambulance, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
An investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to determine what factors were involved in the accident.

EAST OTTO, NY (WIVB) – The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s department says 79-year-old Paul Raymond Maddex died Monday after the motorcycle he was riding went off the road and into a ditch on Connoisarally Road in the Town of East Otto.
Sheriff deputies found Maddex unresponsive and not breathing. Medical personnel from the East Otto Fire Department and Rural Metro ambulance performed CPR and transported him to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

State Police say 52-year-old Roy Beverlin, Jr. failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway on Bolton Road in the Town of Ashford and crashed, striking a fence and trees. A passing motorist found him unresponsive and called 911.
Beverlin was prnounced dead at the scene.
I would never be on a bike out that way yet. All the crap on the road out that way is got to be pretty bad, I wouldnt be surprised if hit bike slid on gravel or other crap on the road from winter.
I’ve been riding for a few weeks this season now. Conditions are definitely awful. Most days are cold even if it starts out warm, gravel everywhere, pot holes a plenty…
And I might just be unlucky but a couple assholes have aggressively tailgated me on the 198 when I’m already going 5-10 over in rush hour traffic and it was too busy to get in the right lane.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State Police Wednesday announced the arrest of a Jamestown man, Mark Frankson, 46, after a traffic stop on East 2nd Street in the City of Jamestown on Sunday.
Troopers say they saw Frankson driving his motorcycle with no hands and swerving on the roadway. They detected a strong odor of alcohol and conducted field sobriety tests. Troopers took him into custody and report a BAC of .16 percent, which is twice the legal limit, after further tests.
Frankson was charged with felony DWI due to previous convictions, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanor operating out of the interlock restriction and a violation of operating with hands not on the handlebars.
