My wife’s dad works as a Constable and court officer part time and is super cool. :tup:
He works as an Engineer full time and is a prime example of what I think a cop should be.
The NOLA police department was a mess and full of corruption long before Katrina. The disaster only exposed how bad the department was, not create the corruption and issues that are shown in the news stories.
Are you a cop? I remember reading some of your first posts when you signed up, sure sound like a cop. Not keeping an eye on the board or anything.
I have no problem with cops, but that’s being said living in the suburbs. Down south you have racial tension coupled with, for lack of a better word, dumb people. Let’s be honest, areas hit by Katrina aren’t famous for pushing out scholars.

Down south there is so much more tolerance and integration than there is here. WNY has more rednecks than most parts of Mississippi.
No sir. I do support them just as much as I support our military men and women. I do have quite a few friends that are cops.
I tend to call out the extremely ignorant. It’s a bad habit of mine.
Down south, and west for that matter, the requirement to be an officer is also significantly lower. All you need is a HS Diploma/GED is most cases without anything that resembles a physical fitness test. A guy I who moved down to, and is now an officer in Atlanta. He worked up here at Rosina’s making meatballs and to my knowledge has no college education. Did I mention he’s also over 50?
There is a reason that the NY and PA troop academy’s are the best and toughest in the country. Even Virginia is a joke. They would come and recruit for corrections and some fat slob was standing talking about you only have to take a test, no physical test as if people couldn’t tell by looking at him.
You should know that cops are bound to the same law as the rest of us then. In addition they must also follow rules and regulations set out by the police force. In short, if he does anything he shouldn’t he will lose his job and be made an example of. This is probably why he hasn’t done anything yet.
