Pete is an example of how quality marketing works.

Aluminum is lighter, wicks and removes heat faster.

Stainless is heavier YET resists heat better.

depends on what you need to do. Remember 2 years ago when I did my pipes in 304??? and everyone said I was dumb for doing so??? Huh, now all the big co’s are using it? Not so dumb now I guess!

Pete a t-bolt clamp will never bend, crush, kink 16 ga aluminum tubing. no way. ill go home put an impact wrench on one and send it home on a piece of pipe and a coupler and prove it.

everyone else. Stainless VS aluminum is dependent on what the IC system is doing. If you have a shit ton of tubing and alot of under hood heat, radiating from below said charge pipes, aluminum isnt a good idea, becasue it will wick the heat faster, and if there isnt any cool air flowing over them (i dont even give a shit about the intercooler doesnt matter one bit) they will heat up and introduce heat into the system. Where as stainless would take longer to wick up the under hood temps, if they did it would also take longer to cool off. I would use stainless for short IC runs for drag racing. Aluminum for road race where they would be working much longer, and see more consistent air flow to attempt to remove under hood heat that could be introduced to the pipes.

the bottom line is they are only pipes to move air. really cant fuck that up too bad, so over paying for something like that is retarded IMO… but I dont buy I build so I am biased.

Guys like Pete are the reason why Billy Mays made millions.

Obviously Synapse guys don’t know what they are talking about, they’ve never build anything turbo or anything.

Hey Pete when you see a banner on the Internet that says “You won” do you click it?

:facepalm

Are you trying to say my dual saw is junk?

Oxy Clean!?!?!?!?!

BUT WAIT THERES MORE?!?!?!

Not if you mighty putty the shit out of it :rofl

it was still dumb. they are doing it because its cheaper.

I agree with the stainless pipe resisting heat better… I still would say that aluminum is the superior product here, especially considering the weight (weight is a big thing, this is why my 170lb cousin drag races my car for me hahahahahaha) and remember buschur touts that their MBC is .0007lbs lighter than the competitor.

it might resist heat but on a street car once it gets hot it stays hot. they are trying to recoupe all the added weight of the charge piping. :banghead

.0007 lbs cut, 19.9993 to go.

:lol

Nahhh kiid. My reasons are 100% valid.

Remind me when my jetta is running. Ill make a set of aluminum IC pipes and a set of stainless. put it on the dyno and take 3 pulls for each. thermal read the under hood temps for each run… then compare results to prove it.

stainless is more your wrong:

$10.50 a foot 304 stainless 2.5" dia 16ga

VS

$6.75 a foot 6061 2.5" dia 16ga

annnnd stainless filler rod is more than aluminum per lb by a lot. More argon is used to tig stainless because it must be post flowed while it cools, and back purged inside so you dont ingest crap from the inside of the weld into your motor.

you just are incorrect here.

You can use thinner wall stainless though, fucking 16ga is heavy :lol

:rofl :rofl :rofl omg this is awesome. I am LOLing over here

Like I said above retard, it depends on what the application calls for. Thats EXACTLY what I said, and you called it dumb!

And the same shit, Ill weigh some piping I have at home on a digital scale and tell you exactly what the difference is. Most cars have 3-4 feet worth of plumbing. I know for a fact, stainless isnt 1lb more per foot of equal dia/wall size than aluminum… so at most your theoretically gaining 3-4 lbs!!! no fucking way. if that’s the case, remove the paper work from your glove box and get that weight back!

Changed my mind… Im using titanium for my charge piping

Yeah for worm gear clamps users. lol

you have a point though…

18ga is $12.50 a foot instead :rofl

You and pete need to shop better for your parts.

$48 a pop!

DUDE, the bushings are like $12, $2 in steel plate $2 for a steel tube, 5 mins with a plasma cutter and drill press, splurge on a 12.9 bolt for $2.50 and a $2 grease zerk. $20 and your done!

Fuck, I gotta start making these shits and stocking my selves!
