Doesnt say anything about stock bottom end.:tongue
you all want to see a budget build? I will forge the bottom end, sell the turbo stuff and put enough NAWZ through it to blow the welds on YOUR intake manifold!
I dont even know what AUG is.
There is always a million sides to each story, I dont buy into that shit most of the time. They build motors for race cars, big dollar boats and what not all the time. If some pop, its part of the game as far as I am concerned.
Not to mention all I am having him do, like he did the last time, is put the block in a cleaner, press the timer button and walk away. Come back, put it on a fixture and bore 8 holes, something they do thousands of times each year. If they cant do that right, 99% of the time, I highly doubt they would stay in business.
Whatever really, this is a “budget” build, or at least its trying to be. If it is machined wrong and fails, you guys can bake me an “I told ya so” cake and I will eat it off the windowed block. Chalk it up to I tried to save $200 and it wasn’t the right place to do so. I honestly could care less, its all about experience. Since people seem to think “you dont know shit” when I dont have proof, if it has problems i figure them out and there’s my proof for then next time.
when it comes down to it, you gotta do what YOU want. I had people from ear to ear telling me not to buy used valvetrain/cam/oil pump etc. for my cam install. Guess what? 40k on it, with 10k worth of nitrous through it and im the only F-body on this site that still starts up everyday and can take a straight through drive down to myrtle beach and back. If I didnt do what I wanted, and listened to other people it might not have worked out that way.
so does the forged bottom end mean your gonna put the man pants on and build it to a 4 digit power number eventually?
who the hell knows. Everything seems to change around me daily.
boyds does nice work.they piss ppl off because they put the stock car guy ahead of normal joe blow and that doesnt always sit well and there usually extremly expensive im suprised ur getting all that done that cheap
My boyd built small block lasted 10 mins …he told me to Fuck myself . He didn’t align bore the mains right .
H857CP
I am doing it for you guys.
Now who has a rod end torch and some dry ice?
ohh and I ran into the office when my phone rang, saw it was you, missed the call, went to hit call back and my battery died. Dont want ya to think i was ignoring you. I forgot to call ya back this am
hyper
All I know is that Rick@RPM Engines in Georgia, VT is the best engine machinist/builder in the area…
And that I’m going to drag this heap down the 1/4 mile over and over:crackup
hug
But seriously, how much power did Hot Rod make with a stock bottom? Take ~150 HP off of that and it’ll live a long time. Open up the ring end gaps a bit while you’re in there.
that was a 4.8 and that was well over 1000hp.
and im not sure if you should be talking about dragging anyone down the 1/4 mile considering the evo has, and never will see it.
You’ve obviously forgotten about the red Camaro that me and my dad built. Say what you want about the Evo, that car will continue to annihilate you on the street, but I’ll warn you right now-watch what you say about a father’s last project with a son. You admit yourself that you like to start forum drama, and that’s fine, but if you can’t say anything nice about that car, don’t say it at all.
that’s a kick in the balls.
if i ever have a real motor built i’m taking it to my uncle’s engine builder. he’s been building racing engines longer than i’ve been alive and not one has ever blown up due to machining error. dude could bore a small block chevy blindfolded and with one hand tied behind his back.
Who is that ?
Wally Fiehl. he’s in the PA sticks.
