Less talk, more do.
Go 2jz ftw
sell me old wheels?
wow… i dont even know what to say to be honest with you. like ive been in the 240 scene for like 3 years now. ive only seen that one guy in the middle east do it. i know cause at one point i thought about doing the swap too, but then i realized how pointless and stupid it would be. mpd47 is right. like i get the whole different thing but a lot of times different isnt worth it and is generally gay. so every one knows what a sr and rb is. the reason they are so popular is because they proven to be the best choices. they are both extremly stout and respond well to mods. the only thing i could think of is that it would be like putting a sr20 in a s2k, or a 350 in a brand new z06. its just fucking dumb. I might have read that all wrong but im getting the impression, some of you guys think this car came with the ca? and im with jim on this one also, every one else can do there crazy swaps, but ill be quite content going fast than you in my sr that isnt different! (except for ian, cause im working on that car)
It came with a CA from the previous owner, not from the factory. See the link I posted on the first page.
like, totally I agree with you. But like, sometimes like people totally want to do their own thing. Like isn’t there a rb in an e30 on this site? that’s like totally wack.
yeah and turbociv can do a bmw motor in a Nova. (not ragging on you btw. cool idea)
Nyspeed: home of one of a kind motor swaps
me too! (if I ever get the damn thing done. lol)
lolz i’ll be the guy with the SR going broke because I spent too much haha
There are a lot of cunts in this thread…
Christian’s BMW thread doesn’t get this response…
This guy is taking a proven motor, and putting it in a proven chassis…
Conventional? Not at all. Practical? Prob. not. Sensible? Again, not really…
But who cares, he’s doing the work, not you, let him have his fun.
I wish you good luck with the build…
I think the amount of money you have to spend on a project is inversely proportional to the amount of hate you get for doing it.
good luck to you.
at least your doing something, instead of crying about having a broken ca.
the vg is better than the ca, i’ll give u that, now can u make it work? prolly wont see this car for a couple years, when u wanna ditch the plan lmk, i’ll buy the shell off you
You mean the $45 I gave you for your stock SR turbo wont pay for finishing your project?
Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I really dont see any reason to shit up this thread. There are plenty of cars that are PITA to work on with their stock or swaped engines. Stop hating on what he is doing here.
I give props to anyone who has creativity, and wants to do things a little different. Its not always about going the easy way out.
eeeh my swaps better then your swap…blllaahh
but really mines gunna be so fucking cool…good luck with your northstar swap
:bigclap:Well put. To the OP, good luck with the build. This is a hell of an upgrade over a Paseo, if you still have that.
hahahahaha thank god no… I sold it for 150 bucks and the motor blew a month later. And the dumbass put a quite a bit of money in the body. Somehow didnt remember when i told him you HAVE to check the oil often… and thanks for the luck everyone.
I’m on hell week no so no updates. Will be talking to a friend to help fab up some stuff for me soon.
Still trying to find a gay ass mo fo infiniti j30 oil pan and oil sump
Are you planning on running a pretty much stock motor, or doing any upgrades?
I’m sure you’ve done some homework and know where to shop, but incase you don’t and are looking to go above and beyond stock 300ZXTT motor, here’s some links to sites that specialize in parts just for these motors:
And some forums you might wanna check out:
9ONA3OOZX,
Awesome thanks man. I was mostly looking at parts from z1motorsports.
I am keeping it stock for now. I want to get the motor in, running, and realible first. then build up the chassis, then 450-500hp built motor. But thats another time, another thread…
Ugh trust me…do not try that. Don’t put this motor in until it’s what you want it to be…while it’s out, do EVERYTHING you ever plan on doing to it because if not, you’ll need to pull it again to do so…and it’s enough of a pain in the ass pulling the motor from a 300ZX, i can’t imagine having to pull it again from a 240.
oook…
this is a bad idea. I don’t know what it is about that chassis but it leads people to be super defensive about really bad ideas.
it doesnt matter how you do the math, the VG30DETT swap is a silly idea. The reason so few people have done it is because it’s a bad choice. there are a number of guys in this thread that have alot of experience with it… the motor is just barely cool in a z32… just barely…
an SR is a straight forward swap with a clear path to 325whp…
an RB is also not that complicated and a clear path to 450whp…
LS1, 2JZ, all better motors, all same difficulty to swap in… actually, the 2J is a much easier swap.
I will gaurantee that you will regret doing this swap. 90% liklihood you dont finish it and even if you do there is a 60% chance it will suck anyways.
