Restaurants that don't suck thread

Chooch, hit up Ballyhoo for lunch!

Great cocktails, house made sausage, and a solid draft selection (with 1/2 pints abailable if you want).

@Jam I’m moving off the street soon :frowning:

—> Redmond (still in the hood dao)

Went to 716 last night. The place is definitely something to see. You can tell a lot of thought went into designing it, rather than just TGI Fridays shit all over the wall. TVs everywhere so you’re never in a bad seat. Even the mirrors in the bathroom have TVs in them.

The bar is awesome

The food is pretty typical for a Gastro Pub style restaurant. They use Local ingredients wherever they can. I had the burger with Yancy’s Fancy cheddar and Aioli sauce. My brother and sister in law split the Beer Can Chicken and my wife had a flatbread pizza. Everything was great and relatively inexpensive. I had a Two Hearted IPA which was $6, my wife had the Sabre Blue cocktail which was also $6. I thought drink prices were really fair.

I would definitely recommend you stop in, but I wouldn’t expect to be blown away. You’ll have a good meal, in a great atmosphere with a great selection of beer and mixed drinks.

How’d you get that picture without people pushing and shoving into you!?!

I shit my pants then asked if anyone wanted to perform a gender reassignment on me.

LOL @ProgRocker

@Jam - They started construction inside Sterling Tavern!

tried ‘test kitchen’ in Burlington last week. place is bomb.

$10 taxes in for a dish and a drink… can’t beat it. food is awesome and there is a line-up to get in during the day. definite recommend.

My wife and I went to 31 Club the other day. It was great, she had the australian rack of lamb with scalloped potatoes and broccoli raab, and I had the pasta bolognese…excellent food, good service, great environment…nothing bad to say here…would def. reccommend…

Toutant (not just because manhagen works there…)

I just went for the friends & family event on Monday. For dinner my friend (Mrs. Jam) and I shared the 1/2 fried chicken, muffaletta sandwich (the half was about the size of a wegman’s half sub), and the BBQ brisket special. For dessert we shared the beignets and lemon curd with meringue—both were fabulous. It’s always amazing to eat at a restaurant where you can actually taste the love and passion in the food. If you’re into olives, cured meats and garlic bread — get the muffaletta. It’s the best I’ve ever eaten.

I had the cracklins when I crashed a staff meal last week…they may as well be actual crack.

Cocktails: I had a vieux carre, old pal and a classic manhattan. All phenominal. I actually forgot they had hell or high watermelon too, I could have drank my dessert instead. My date had an n/a hurricane, I guess her baby didn’t want to get wasted. She said it was tasty too!

Bourbon & Butter - I haven’t been since the rebranding. The food and drinks are still amazing. I’m actually angry at myself for not going there sooner. We had oysters, charcuterie, korean beef buns and herb chicken. The beef puns were out of this world.

Oshun - if you’re into oysters & seafood and general go check this place out. I’ve been for brunch twice, dinner and lunch. Each experience has been great, their service staff could use more training but they’re relatively new…so I won’t ding them too hard.

189… again.
They have live music there quite often too, which is nice.

I am looking forward to trying this place. I love southern/creole and it’s difficult to find good representation outside of the south

Pick me up.

I am super excited to try Toutant out. The leftovers I had the other night were pretty great

So my wife WASNT doing shots at the bar and lines of coke in the bathroom? So unlike her!

Went to Guelph Monday and lunched at Crabby Joes. 45 minutes for an imitation bowl of french onion and lousy salad.

So your wife hangs out at the old pink a lot huh?

i lived in Guelph for 4 years. there is a big culinary / food program at the university there and as a result there are many good restaurants in the area. you deserved what you got for going to crabby joes

hahah it was a joke. I think shes been to the pink like 3 times, all with me dragging her there

shes pregnant and we always joke about her constant binge drinking and chain smoking and drug use. that baby likes to party already

Wegman’s sub shop on Transit road, after last night I don’t think I’ll ever not go to Dibellas again.

You should come in tonight! We are officially open, and I’ll be behind the stick all night.

If it wasn’t my brother’s birthday today, I’d strongly consider it. I’ll stop in soon though.

If a guy orders a hurricane, is that an effeminate thing to do? Like ordering an Appletini?
