Restaurants that don't suck thread

I decided to try Ricks. The menu has items that sound really appetizing, I’m able to get a table without too much trouble. Mike A’s does sound good too though. Maybe ill put a few dollars aside now and then and save up to go out on valentines day or something else special.

I am anxious for your review of Rick’s, I (and everyone I know) loves it. It really is fine dining without too much stuffiness and the new addition has a nice bar too.

A place I tried recently is Root Five in hamburg its right one the lake, good food and pretty cool atmosphere

guys, i’d like to merge this thread with this one: LINK

yeah there is some CDN content but need to keep it all in once place… and proper reviews too dudes.

I was going to say, I thought we had this thread already, lol.

Carmelo’s in Lewiston. Best meal in WNY and cheaper than mike a as well

Relax, it was a joke…

Regardless, their food is amazing.

On topic, outisde of many of the other great suggestions, go to Dick and Jenny’s on G.I.

And you are totally wrong about that.

I like their food I thought maybe they built a upscale location or something

tried essex st pub’s food last night. had a PLT. (pastrami, lettuce, tomato). also gave their wings a shot (they dont have a deep fryer)

Life. Changing.

I will push the East Aurora area more.
Blue Lantern Lounge
American Grill
Roycroft
Old Orchard Inn
Rick’s
Elm Street bakery is always busy too. Not sure really fine dining but…

Rick’s on Main…one of the best meals I’ve ever had

I’ve eaten at the Roycroft plenty, I enjoy it there as well, definitely one of my top 5

I’ve heard many good things about this place, have yet to try it

I have always liked Curlys in south buffalo/Lakawana havent been there in awhile but i would asume its the same quality and good service.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet, but Liberty Hound opened relatively recently and it was pretty damn good. http://www.buffalorising.com/2012/05/liberty-hound-sounds-off.html

Mostly seafood. Reasonably priced, and it’s right by the naval park/in the same building as the museum, so it gives you something to do afterwards.

Liberty looks good, but I guarantee that my cioppino is better than theirs.

Paul did a great job with this one.

there are alot of good placed suggested in here but on a side note I dont think some of theses places wouldnt be a good first date place, spending alot of money on dinner on some girl you dont really know seems silly, i could be wrong and no this isnt me being cheap i just think first date places should be some what “fun”…any thoughts?

I’ve been there once. I had elk steak. If you go to an expensive restaurant and get pasta you probably suck.

Agreed. First date should be something you can/would do regularly or maybe just a bit nicer. Otherwise you’ll either scare her off with too much pressure or set yourself up for ruin when she expects it all the time.

I just had Joe Fetas driving through St. Catherines. YUMMY!! Best calamari evA!

what if it’s an italian restaurant?
