School me on Caddy CTS's

Aside from it being a FWD autotragic, you guys have 12 hours to talk me out of spending $3500 on this tomorrow.

I looked at it tonight. Needs a couple of small repairs (power seat motor, sounded like a hole in an exhaust pipe though the muffler looked new) but overall was clean as hell for <$4k. Should be a good way to drive cheap for a couple of years then get something that doesn’t suck.

Dear god that is square.

In case you missed this post from before.

Edit: Just realized it was a Volvo. Maybe worse.(?)

you sound more like campaign everyday.

:frowning:

Those are very good cars, Fry.

Here’s your CTS

We have a volvo Cross-country turbo 5cyl AWD Wagon it would fall into your price if you talk to justin.

Excuse me if I don’t get excited about a car company that almost failed, it’s entire existence, got bailed out by a domestic company, and STILL inevitably failed.

this would be a good car, fry is only looking to buy something that sucks.

lol it’s the same car, just heavier, uglier, worse handling, worse gas mileage, and with more shit to break.

I dunno, I’m hesitant on this one. It’s a good car but I’m going to keep shopping for a bit.

I’ll go look at this tonight.

Those Subarus are rot boxes, man…get that S70…

:io:

These all seem like really solid deals actually- however about as boring as they get aesthetically and driving wise.

If you’re looking for something boring that will be reliable, and will get you a solid ROI in a few years, I don’t know why you’re not exclusively looking at Hondas.

If I were you, I would be trying to find a crv

Here you go-

Fuck it. I’m going to lease a Civic. Yes, really.

$169/mo x 36 with $2k down, buy it out at the end of the lease for $12k and sell it for $14k (3 year old civics still fetch $14-16k) works out to $2028/year. The best I could hope for if I got lucky with a beater would be like $1k per year or so. Gas mileage of a new shitvic vs an old subaru/volvo saves another $500/year. Figure a $500 dollars in M&R per year on the beater and it’s a wash.

I’ll end up paying about $1400 more via taxes on the new car, but small price to pay for 2012 reliability and safety, plus not hating life every time I walk to my car.
