selling your modified car to an inexperienced driver

Insurance fraud.

I started thinking about this a little differently.

Sure, I never wrecked a car, but, looking back at learning how to really drive my stock 98 cobra which ended up becoming lightly modded, it was almost like I was trying to.

I have always been very careful to make sure there aren’t other cars around when driving fast or sliding out of parking lots, but I had to start somewhere. You have to try things a little beyond your ability to learn them and get better. I want to say though, that I have personally paid for everything I have in life; there are still times I have to lend my parents money. Maybe that made me want to not wreck what I had, but probably more importantly I never wanted to put an innocent person’s safety at risk.

The guys who took over the least on the mustang cobra wrapped it around a pole 4 weeks later in NYC…

Well, if you’re going to be an ass hole about it… unless you’re totally out of the loop.

I don’t really think it crosses his mind that much anymore, I’ll ask him when I get home tonight.

In NY State lawyers can pin anything on anyone.

As far as selling a car to someone, slow cars can’t fix stupid.

I would be concerned for the car, not the kid. If I had two offers for the same $ or within a hundred bucks or so I would go with the guy I got a better vibe from, but if not, oh well, caveat emptor.

What is this guilt feeling you speak of?

X…

far from a deathtrap, ive had so many parts replaced on it, pretty much all of the suspension, front and rear, are brand new. i have a rear disc brake swap i didnt get around to putting on that would go with the car also

youre a douchebag. i drive cars that are i enjoy to drive, are quick, economical, and handle well, not balls out fast in a straight line. also the only rust on the car is the typical rear quarter rust that all civics get. and the hood, but that isnt structural and is easily replaced, i did that as a joke more than anything

the thing that really stresses me out is if i do in fact sell it to a teenager, and he gets the money from his parents, and his parents ask what he’s buying, and all he says is “honda civic” his parents would obv be fine about it. then he gets in it with 3 other people, he takes them out on a drive, is showwing off, he looses control into a tree and they all die. i dont know if i could live with myself knowing those 4 people died because of a car i had put together, for me to drive and enjoy, then sold it to some kid, as it sat, who had no idea what he was doing. i remember how i drove when i was 17, it wasnt well, or safe

maybe i just think too much

lol. i forgot, youre a dutch robot

I was hoping you would respond to LZ with just PUSHRODS SIQ BRAH. haha

But honestly Jam you are thinking too much. I honestly don;t think it should be of much concern till you are talking reallllly fast cars. But kudos on actually caring.

I sold a swaped car to some one, I felt a bit bad as the car was great for me, but the new owner was younger and not much mechanical skill, HEAVILY modded or SWAPPED cars are never going to be super reliable. but i never think about the speed aspect… I sold my wifes ninja to a girl who needed her daddy to help her put onthe helmet…

lol oh ya, i forgot FUGGGIINNNNNNNNNN SIIIQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ PUSHRODSSSS BRAAAHHHHHH!!! 8 CYLINDERS, 1 CAM!!!

hahaha I still loled. YES!

If it was RWD with power, then you might have grounds to worry. How bad can you fuck up FWD unless there’s enough torque for torque steer?

depends on the car…

i’ve sold lightly modded cars wtihout hesitation, but i wouldnt sell my coupe to someone who didnt know what they were doing. not because they’d get hurt but because they’d blame me at the first issue that comes up.

Blow me dickhead

 Pauly

Really? The only vibe I give a shit about is who is paying me more. I never understood why people give a fuck about a car after they sell it?

Cash is king

X2

I remember having some hesitant feelings when I sold my siqqqqqq 91 Tercel, but that was the only time.
