Hey guys, ive been getting shitty fuel mileage on my s13, i put in 20$ and get 140km. was just over 200 with 20$ i have searched and read other posts but got no useful information, except what common parts to change. i have changed plugs, all fluids,o2 sensor, cat seems to be ok not clogged, always run 91 vpower, i havent changed the distributor cap and rotor i dont know if it plays a big role in fuel mileage. Should i look into timing or the coolant sensor? sorry for making the post long thanks.
what engine do u have, u don’t need premium in a ka
its a KA, i dont like using shitty gas lol
i just changed my rotor and cap for 32 bucks at part source gave me some more power and gas mileage
but i just went down a drastic 50-60 km just on 20 liters of fuel, i dont think a new cap and rotor give that much mileage ^^
wanna bet i got an extra 25km on 10 bucks
last time i remember I was getting about 200ish km on 87 regular in my KAE, you can always do a fuel injector clean, or try changing gas stations. I always use Sunoco, and will continue once I go KA-T this april or early may.
KA-T :o
check ur timing and change the o2 sensor
ive cleaned injectors as well. where are the super smart guys to lead me to this problem lol ?
KA’s get shit gas mileage, I used to get 400km to a full tank on mine. Throw in an SR or something.
check your ecu for codes, good place to start. its behind the passenger footwell kick panel, pull it out and you’ll see a little dial on the back and 2 led’s. turn the dial all the way clockwise until the led’s flash 3 times, then turn it all the way back. after you do this it will flash back a code at you. the red led indicates the first number of the code, the green one the second number.
if you get 5 flashes from red and 5 flashes from green you have code 55 - this is means there are no codes present.
Give this a shot and post up what you find.
Good luck!
lol i just 11L/100km just now that’s pretty dam good imo
Damn, that’s amazing.
I’ve been getting around 500 km or less per tank as of late.
drive like a grandma
I usually get like 7km/L, about 350-400km per full tank. If I go all out ONLY highway driving, I get like 9km/L, about 450km per tank. This is with new O2 sensor, new cap & rotor, new plugs, new wires, 1 year old cat & manual transmission. wtf?
KA’s should get like 12+km/L on the highway (600ish km per tank), and about 10km/L in the city with efficient driving (500ish per tank)
There’s a KA-T dude getting like 12km/L, and I can barely get 8km/L with efficient mostly highway driving.
My calculations show about 19mpg, mostly highway, FAIL. I can’t seem to figure it out. I even used a multimeter to test my coolant temp sensor, it was fine. I cleaned my MAF with brake cleaner, and I commonly run injector cleaner as well.
tune it if you want better mileage guys, it’s all about the AFR’s in the end.
that would explain the KA-T dude getting better mileage
AhmadG - Stop using the reverse of what everyone else does It’s either mpg or L/100km
you dont need us premium you say??? i lose nearly 200 km per tank running regular gas
FULL tune up. Fuel/air filter, wires, plugs, cap and rotor. Just DO IT!
Injector flush (fuel system service).
Check your coolant temp switch as well as your thermostat.
I can almost guarantee your having a temperature problem…
