kid ya got a lot to learn as far as what is legal and what is not ,chips or tunes are illeagal as look at the boxes or websites it says FOR OFF RD USE ONLY ,dec can spot check a car and trust me the d.e.c knows more about what cars need than obv u do

that is why big truck dealer techs are able and allowed to re-flash computers on the tier-1 trucks without any need of a reason than that the trucks is being used for a different application than it was original specked for

ok pal ,your right im wrong .asscheese im a n.y.s. inspector .i know whats legal and whats not ,there is diff emmisions standards for every load class .the tuning as ya call it for heavy trucks are for govenors and speed limiters mostly as a close frind of mine works for swift transport as a tech so come on baffle me with more bullshit . i love it when some 18 yr old comes on thinkin he knows it all

since when did a nys inspection ever involve a smoke test or checking for any re-flashes or tunes?

its called checking for calibration id,s and emmisions checks on every inspection .what ya think every car with no cats magically doesnt trip a c.e.l . ya gotta know what to look for .do we have to dig in that far ? no not yet but your still not gonna beat me

my buddy is a tech at cummins off railroad ave. his truck is now p-pumped and makin lotsa power. and lotsa smoke

checking readiness on all monitors. but at least for now, in NY, an altered tune will not show up if all monitors are up.

12-valve with a p-7100 or a 24-valve with the mechanical conversion?

24v with mechanical conversion. schied ( sp) twins, worked to the moon. haven’t been in the truck in a while but before the conversion he ran 75 or 85 psi through it, i couldn’t remember.

but it was by far the NASTIEST/FASTEST truck i’ve been in. its a black dually

last i knew light duty diesel are exempt from plug in emissions in NY anyways, thats why the stickers are safety only and have a white circle in the middle.

for now diesels are only on a low emmisions sticker but all the stuff needs to be there still

exactly, i wasnt talking about removing cats, DPF’s, EGR’s, etc…

he does tractor pulls with it, but other then that, he has it just to have it.
