Spec or centerforce

I see some guy’s with LS1s that have those mods and dyno from 440-450 RWHP. Figure 12% hp loss through the drivetrain. 12% of 500 is 60. So I think it is pretty accurate. Either way it is going to be close and my point is I am going to need a clutch that can handle HP like that.

yeah but the slave cyl is only really a problem on the 01s. but there r guys w/ mild bolt-on 02+ who r complaining about clutch problems. i dont know if i would trust it.

a clutch pedal sticking to the floor is only a clutch problem itself if the crank is moving with too much play…unless the fingers on the pressure plate itself explode there’s no way due to the design of the plate a pedal sticking on the floor can be the fault of the clutch.

not on ls1’s

u said it was because of a master cyl problem…i’m confused…i was saying that the plate itself would have to fail miserably

sorry,read it wrong!

whatever the problem is on DSMs, think the OPPSOSITE on others :kekegay:

it’s ok i forgive you this time

So I take it that this “drill mod” is to the slave cylinder?

yes

Stay away rom the zo6 if you plan doing any serious modding. Not really that happy with my spec either. The best clutch that i had that took a ton of abuse was the cartek but man was it a bitch to drive on the street and you will need an adjustable master if you go with one of the bigger clutches. I would recomend it if you have the extra dough it is so much better then pissing with shims

I have first hand expierence with the Centerforce. By far the best clutch kit I have ever used. It lasted. It took a beating, and asked for more. I got 60k out of it with a continual beating throught college. Good stuff.

from what I read, the Cartek clutch is nothing more than a McLeod

They are not a good f-body clutch, did have one in my 94 se-r way back in the day worked good in that application.
