eh, if it explodes the drive shaft is all behind the cab. lol. I will have a drive shaft made next spring…
can I get some feed back on the tranny mount? please? thanks

interesting, any updates?
uh kinda. I took off a few days this week to get some things worked out. changing over from a 94 interior to a 98+ is a lot harder than I thought. once that is done its time to wire it in. It should be running this weekend…
Lol, i’ve said that before…
after about 11hrs of electrical testing and harness modification, the sr20 turned over this weekend but didnt start. mechanical fuel pump failure it seems. the harness is live, so just gotta replace that and see what happens. travis has more of the details, he got it to turn over just after i left.
the harness is a pretty big mess even with 2/3 of it removed. thats gunna be the hardest part of this whole project; making it look presentable.
some pics from this weekend.
to clarify what we did… we used this diagram here and what we are left with needs to be married to the s10 harness.
unused harness pieces:
“finished” harness:
harness continuity/signal testing:
travis doin his thang:
thats all i got.
walbro pump ordered, I had power and ground at the pump but no go. I was going to get one eventually…
It didnt run this weekend because I didnt have internet and I forgot to bring a pin out of the ecu. Even though we had that diagram above I didnt feel comfortable just going for it with out double checking what should have power/gound.
dude. german shepard. nice. ill get you that xmember pic tomarrow. glad to know your making progress with the wiring. i ended up scrapping my harness and got a universal 12 volt harness and rewired my truck. luckily i opted out of fi.
its really not that hard. it just takes time. the biggest problem I see is making the harness look pretty… and then I have to remove things from the s10 harness that arent used anymore.
travis, i see a zq8 wheel on that chassis to the right. was it an ss truck or zq8? if it is swap the coils and leafs and swaybars to your truck. about a 2" drop and better handling. also, still got the sticker from in the glovebox? curious what it has for a rear…
btw, i sent you a pm with the shots of the xmember
yes that dash is in the green s10. I was thinking it might be something sweet. it does have the rear sway bar. I planned on swapping everything over anyways because its in better shape. any idea if the front suspension mounts are the same from a 94 to 98? I posted a thread on s10f but no one answered
will the rpo codes say if its an ss? did they have ss in 98?
cool build… expected numbers?
yes they did have the ss then. it is an zq8 or ss with the rear sway. front sway is larger diameter. uses different leafs and coils for drop. the frames on these are virtually unchanged from 82-03. very few changes when they got to the 90’s they boxed the frames a little more but everything is interchangeable.
this may help as well to identify the gears you have.

G80 - locking differential
does it have an 8.5 or 7.625? 8.5 will be round cover with flat corners on bottom and buldges on axles where they go into center. 7.625 has more squared cover and no bulge at axle tubes. also have a curved ear instead of corner on bottom.
I have no idea. all i am hoping for is low 13’s
I have looked it up and checked before, like a month ago, pretty sure I have the 8.5 as it has the little tabs at the bottom. and I think it has the 3.73 with out locking diff
edit: I need the bushings that go in the frame that the rear shackle bolts to. I cant find a p/n anywhere. any ideas?
try lmc they have almost everything for these trucks. then sell me that rear axle if it is indeed an 8.5:rofl:
I think both of mine are 8.5’s but the 94 has 3.08 I think
lol, such a hack job, i love it. and is that your old 240?
unfortuneatly, the 8.5 never came with a 3.08 gear and wasent in the s10’s until 95. so if the one in the 98 looks like the 94, its probably just a 7.625. also, if that 98 was a 4cyl then it has the zq8 suspension package only, not an ss. and swap the steering boxes. the zq8 has a quick ratio like the camaro’s. and apparently the zq8 package can handle .84 g’s. but even with the 7.625, i dont see any problems with it holding up to your build.
ha, ill have to double check then. already switched steering boxes when I shitched columns.
