So today at work it was pretty busy and i didnt get to take lunch till wuite late, about 4:15. so i was on my way to get some pizza when i stoped behind a CRV who stoped behind a van making a left turn. i come to a complete stop a good distance away from the CRV and SLAM some f*cking guy and his LTD crown vic comes crashing into the back of me at 50kph. so he sent me skidding into the back of the CRV and i got a tow hook to the licese plate and his exhaut tip into my passenger blinker. the rear end is alot worse off both quarters are dented up pretty good my bumper is hanging off the end of my car and my whole trunk is pretty crumpled. not to mention my back is killing me.
the damage doesnt look too bad from the pics but the rear end is pretty crumpled and i doubt insurance in going to want to fix it, so they’ll probably give me something stupid like $500 so i can go buy a 1985 civic.
im going to jack it up sometime in the near future and tear off the bumper and stuff so i can take a good look at the frame. if the frame is still good will it still be repairable or is the unibody too crinkled and im looking at a parts car.
well judging from the pictures “or the one I singled out above” it looks like the passenger side rear rail is going to be tweaked for sure and if its not then you are one lucky guy
your going to need to take the car into a collison center and have a pro check it out and give you an idea on repairs and such
theres a 91 white hatch auto for sale here in london for $2400. so if they write off my car i’ll buy it back from them and get the auto hatch and swap in my 5spd and the cool coupe hud. that is if i can find some money.
awwwh… because of the way the trunk is “crumpled” odds of the rear “passengerside rail anyway” not being bent/tweaked in some way or form would be extremely lucky
in which case yes, who cares about a crumpled trunk, but once he gets under neath the story may change… (or once its taken to a collison center and then put on a frame machine) to get an idea on if anything is out and if so how badly…
From what I can see the rear quaters can be worked out since it looks like plastic deformation and would pop out easy. As for the trunk that section of trunk floor can be bought from Nissan still. They would cut the section out along the tack welds. Straighten the body out then reweld the new peice in prolly. You would need a new (prolly used) front and rear bumper.
My honest opinion your car is going to be writen off since its BB value is no more then 1500 bucks and that damage will cost that alone.
the trunk floors look rusty anyways…maybe the car was already on it’s way out via cancer?
still sucks to see and hear that though man. i know i would have busted a grape on the guy’s face if that had happened to me, i can’t stand ignorant assholes like that. i’m finding i have less and less tolerance for every single other driver on the road these days, cause it seems 90% of the population simply does not know how to drive anymore. shit, the other day i drove to Square One and back, 35 minutes each way, and over the course of both trips i had to use my horn 7 fucking times! and this was in the middle of a thursday, not during rush hour or anything! fucking retards.
