Though I wouldn’t have put it as bluntly, I totally agree.
You have to pay to play.
holy crap have any of you heard the saying “to each his own”?
if you don’t like it, great! personally i don’t, i would never stick a fucking american V8 into an FC/S14/S13/Z31/whatever. sure it’s an impressive, unique swap…but i’d much rather have a foxbody 5.0 mustang with a big rumbling V8 in it, a car that the engine sort of belongs in. Z31 i’d much rather have like a built-ass RB20 or something that, again, suits the car. mixing and matching is kind of lame to me.
but at the same time, if you ARE a supporter of these kinda swaps…more power to you but don’t go preaching your bullshit to people who obviousley aren’t going to agree with you. one of the biggest annoyances to me in life are people who try and preach and force their beliefs upon other people who do not share them.
so, whether you like it or not, can we all just agree it’s a unique interesting swap and leave the bickering to middle school?
on that note, mr200, can i have your wheels?
The Real Question G is will be able to get your car running before he does?

mssc has plenty of wow factor for this year, you should see matt’s other car
Hehe, I love this board too.
You guys put WAY too much thought into projects.
Was this meant to be impressive?
No, not really. Putting motors where they didn’t come is the true essence of hot rodding.
Is it innovative? (see above)
Is it a technological marvel? Hell no. The technology is pure late 60s, it even still has a points-style distributor.
Like I said, a) not my car.
I’d rock it, don’t get me wrong, and I will. And by nature it will be fast.
b) no real planning went into this build up.
It was a project of opportunity. I had great working motor and tranny and a car that had no motor or tranny.
It was a freakish coincidence that it went together with almost no fabrication necessary.
Other than a gasket set, oil pan, cam and wheels and tires, this project hasn’t cost me a red cent.
Should be a mid 12 second performer, with great handling, great road manners, driftable and will be a very unique vehicle. Once the cosmetics are done, it will become another one-of-none vehicle, which is what the owner wanted.
Considering the end cost will be probably under $1,000, I hope it opens at least some minds.
This isn’t a gauntlet being thrown down in an import vs. domestic battle. I love cars, that’s it.
If I had an RB26 lying around and a 60-70s muscle car without an engine, I would have done the exact same (opposite) thing.
At least it ain’t cookie cutter!
And MY project … heheheheh.
GODZILLA!!!
Fast and the Furious 3 already beat you to it!
RICER!!
Will the hood clear the filter?
What about the driveshaft?
i’d guess he just had a custom steel driveshaft made for ~$200-250
Yeah he forgot to mention it…

he thought of that years ago, they ripped his idea by fluke. if he was rich it would be old news.
i’m sure theres quite a few small things he forgot to mention.
someone local needs to put a nice V8 in an S13
we’ll do it, someone has to provide the car and the motor though lol
we want to get away from building the same old cars so if anyone has a cool idea but they arent sure if they can pull it off themselves, give one of us mssc guys a shout.
any local places that sell chevy motors that you guys know of?
If you wannaknow jon I can get you some Old american motors, 350’s no problem
What about like late 90’s 350s?
Do you mean like an LT1 or an LS1?
