Try it out. Almond milk is rather good IMO. I like it better than soy actually. Soy protein has been linked to increased estrogen production according to some reading I’ve done.
x2
Preservatives and non whole foods really aren’t “healthy”. I agree with Cougar tho…all or nothing isn’t the only way and just getting your feet wet isn’t a bad thing really.
It’s not even about whole vs non-whole (although high quality foods are always preferred). It’s about fatty dairies, processed grains (pizza dough, sub rolls, taco shells), GREASE and oil that all of that shit is cooked in, sugars, etc… Just cutting out shitty meat and replacing it with other CRAP is not going to make it any more healthy.
I agree above. You smoke and drink so much that you can’t hold enough liquor to get drunk, but your first step is to cut meat? Your first step should be to replace those cigs with slim jims. lol
EDIT: Yesterday I ate a Taco Bell $5.00 beefy pack for the first time. Hell yea. That tortilla covering the hard shell thingy was the shit! I felt like a million bucks after mowwing down that meal.
Just don’t become a ‘potato chip vegetarian’. I hate that “Ooh, I don’t eat meat, I’m a vegetarian, it’s much healthier!” while scarfing down an entire bag of Lays or other junk food.
to quote frank zappa, “tobacco is my favorite vegetable.” everyone is seriously hating on my decision because i also smoke, literally, 4-5 cigarettes a day (and american spirits, no additives, 100% whole leaf tobacco grown in the good old us of a) and enjoy a few adult beverages from time to time. yes, i have a super high tolerance, i have been drinking since i was 16, i inherited good alcohol tolerance from my parents and its only gotten higher over time
im not turning into a fucking insanely healthy person, i just want to stop eating meat bc i CHOOSE not to, for as long as i CHOOSE not to.
and i am still going to eat fish, just no red meat, pork, or chicken. fuck.
newman, how many drinking, chain smoking hipster vegans do you know? prob at least a few

lol. no. i really dont like chips, i snack on nuts all day long though
one last thing, i posted this same thread on DITB and there was 1 person who hated on me, everyone else was super constructive and made great suggestions as to what i should substitute meat with, whats good, where to get it, and wish me luck.
only one thing better than a stinger sub, thats a stinger pizza… mmm. nothing like hot sauce, blue cheese, steak and chicken finger sprinkled with mozzarella and cheddar cheese. fuck, going to make one now.
People have already got you on the right track with morningstar farms suggestions. Fake bacon FTW.
Also delicious are Quorn Chik’n products. There’s another company that makes fantastic fake chicken fingers (they come in a white bag w/ orange at the top and bottom). Bake them in the oven. Pro-tip: get yourself a cheese sub from wherever you like, bring it home, and pack it full of fake chicken fingers.
Go to The 8’s (888 Main St) and get yourself some avocado fries w/ mango curry sauce and then for dinner order their vegan sausage. Both are fantastic.
Amy’s Place has some outstanding veggie-friendly wraps. The Margie Meal is my favorite (be sure to specify seitan instead of chicken). Also, while there, get yourself some Veggie Wet Shoes and soak it in hot sauce. Outstanding.
Betty’s has a ton of vegetarian-friendly dishes.
Been a vegetarian for three years, don’t miss meat at all.
T-bone is definitely my number one choice, Rib-eye being number two. Shiner is such a quality beer, I don’t think they make one I don’t like.
My wife complains about this all the time. Girls trying to be cool or impress hipsters that become a veggie but guzzle monster and chips are the worse. Then they say they’re doing it to be healthy hahah.
That place rocks. I really enjoy a lot of vegan/veggie food, I just choose to eat everything. Three things I won’t eat are black lickerish, ginger roots, and cheap crummy coleslaw. I’m pretty much good with everything else.
