The R/T just took a fatal blow

no his name was Eric im pretty sure. it was at the one on NFB right by Mighty.

I should be available tomarrow after I’m done doing the front bearings if you need a hand.

if u wanna stop by, my cell is 359-2865 give me a call

and after it runs (i hope) we can all drive my truck over to my mechanic who wanted to ass rape me $4500 for a new motor and kick him in the balls and tell him he jsut lost a customer hehe

why… he had no way to diagnose the motor or the problem. If he was at his shop, and you were anywhere other than his shop… I can’t remember if you went there or not but I seem to remember no. If you did… then yes kick him in the ballsssssss.
I hope everything turns out well after the injector and plug fix.

fixed the gas leak, it still knocks, and now it misfires and the is a CEL on. so i think i made it worse.

i am assuming all spark plugs/wire are all working right…coil is firing properly…

im going back out to doubble check that. im sure the misfire is something stupid like that.

Went out drained the oil, has some metal in it. Knock is heard around 3k-5k range looks to be a rod bearing. On the plus side the underside is super-clean o it won’t be hard to lift to motor to pull the oil pan and inspect the bearings.

And it might have been caught early enough where the crank might be okay. Though that would need to be measured to be 100% sure it’s not out-of-round.

cheap and easy (enough)

Nice work Devin

It only took 10 days to drain the oil and inspect the oil? You can tell if there is metal in the oil by draining it and looking at it?

:stuck_out_tongue:

Whats funnier is that he (mikes98rt) found it fit to pull plugs and PULL INJECTORS before he would even check the oil…

:ham:

well, pulling the plugs wasnt a BAD thing because i found another problem with those that needed to be taken cvare of as well. thanks to Fuzzy for coming over and helping out.

so, who’s up for helping me with it this weekend? i will provide food and beer.

i actually started working on it today. ironically, it was exactly 1 year ago today that i bought it and took it home. anyway, with the ehlp or articzap and a few other friends, this is what got done today:

we needed air tools to get the headers separated from the crossover pipe, and hopefully we will have those for tomorrow and it should slide right out.

good shit man. to doing shit urself. ur gonna save a shitload of money doing it this way and in the end u will learn a whole lot and be much more comfortable under the hood of the car. im glad u made the right decision.

im not gonna rebuild it myself, i just decided to save some money by taking it out/putting it in myself.

sorry i cant help but i need to pay some bills so no extra days off

y not get a j-yard motor?

well, we didnt make too much progress today. about the only productive thing we got done was separating the headers from the motor. it appears as if the tranny crossmember needs to come out, but i cant seem to get the bolts holding it to the frame out. they turn and turn, but dont come out.
