:jawdrop:
if that is $23k in damage i would take your Elise to the shop that green one was done at.
it will get written off for $45k and you can go buy a boosted Elise and still have a few K left over to spend on some kind of incredible fruit cocktail.
musta been the texan who hauled xmas trees on his shit

$23,000 to fix that?? Isn’t a whole new one only like 40K?
[/quote]

good point…
to expand upon it: car is totalled, loan is paid, DIY fix it Lafengas style, boost it and beat the piss out of it.

Naw. Shit happens. It sucks hard for Newman, but it’s just part of driving a car on the street. It’s why we all have insurance. Sounds like the kid’s doing the right thing and handling his business. No need for him to get hosed or even feel bad. All he did was make a mistake and get lesson in following distances.
It doesn’t look like the fix will even involve cutting or bending, rather just replacing what got broken with new factory parts? If so then I can’t imagine that it will even hurt the value of the car too much.

lol i was just kidding. i feel for both people. that poor kids insurance will be insane forever now.

do this…
when ur done, if the car still drives, i’ll give you $5k for it…lol
well, good news for the other guy. got an estimate for 6464.90. That includes clam replacement.
So…Where the fuck did this $23k price come from? The guy with the green one full of shit?
no. he took his to a super high end exotic shop. I’m trying to cut the other guy some slack.
That’s pretty decent of you… don’t worry, we wont tell anyone.
Sounds like the kid made an honest mistake and truly was sorry for it. Nice to see people taking responsibility for themselves and acting like genuine human beings
where was the estimate from?
if its that cheap then get CF… unpainted… dry carbon… no clear coat… my tongue will freeze to it in the winter i promise.

lol. the rear clam is 10,000
my point is that the insco isnt going to complain because its a lotus… they wont have the data to debate it.
fyi, i work in the collision industry now. a $6500 job is nothing… you can EASILY boost it to almost double that… the pictures will warrant it with the image desk.
who is the insurance company, not the broker, the tippity top insco.
actually, if you tell me the operating management system that the store is suing i can probably do a bit of digging.
i have data in front of me for about 8000 claims so far this year, but not a single lotus.
i know from calling insurance companies in the US for quoting that most dont have any data on Lotus’s, i suspect due in part to volume, demographics and lotus’s keeing it quiet. VW does the same thing.
