Unemployment benefit extension

If your company fired them and they apply for unemployment the company has the right to request a hearing… if the company does not request a hearing then YOUR company doesnt give a fuck. Plain and simple. I actually have a hearing tomorrow because I was denied the 599 UIB program that states I am eligible to receive 6 months of UIB while in school and I do not have to look for work. I was denied this benefit because the statistics showed for WNY that there were ample job opportunities in my current career field… of course this was all done in Albany and I’ve been looking at every practical newspaper and job websites known… still nothing. I was making great money with just having an associate degree but now times have changed and I’m pretty much fucked trying to compete with others that have Bachelors degrees. I have experience but employers honestly want to see a Bachelors. So with that said UIB is the only thing keeping me on my feet. I’ve spent all my savings months ago.

Turbociv >>>>> jt76.

lol whatever dude… I voiced my opinion, Turbociv got personal without knowing shit, im not even going to waste my time correcting his misconceptions about me. Its a moot point, and put frankly none of his FUCKING BUSINESS. Apparently he cannot put together any rational argument without resorting to personal attacks. I obviously am not going to be able to voice any opinion on here without listening to bullshit, the Liberal slant on this site is unreal. So i am done in this thread, i have to go back to listening to Rush Limbaugh and counting my money.

The liberal slant on this site? Usually its me voicing the liberal POV and 20 conservatives yelling SOCIALISM.

Reality has a liberal bias.

call a spade a spade…

OOOOPS!!! that might be construed as racist! :run:

Unemployed here. Got laid off due to lack of work in august. talked to the boss myself, he was actually really upset he had to lay all of night shift off, but there was no reason to keep 8 guys on the job doing nothing. That would be retarded and a HUGE waste of his money. So now im waiting to go back to school in January, so my chances of this happening again will be far fewer than before. Just gonna go too school and wait for the Boss too call me back

As for those of you saying “you should take a job, any job, even if its far less”

Fuck you.

Max unemployment Im getting along just nicely. Should i get a job for say, $10.00, not be able to pay my bills, default on my loans and my CC, and than give you something else to bitch about?

For the unemployed right now, the competition for landing a job is now the same as that to get into Harvard.

I really do feel bad for anyone that is unemployed right now. It’s super shitty, but hang in there…it will get better

However, If you have a family, I would think that you should have enough money in savings to float on for a few months until you find some work.

I really cant even grasp how much it must suck for so many people. You lose your job and then cant pay your car loan and mortgage, so you lose your car and house. At that point I would be more worried about surviving than finding a new job.

It’s brutal. I got lucky myself. If this job didn’t pull through I would have been dicked for many more months I’m sure.

Keep trying fellas…something will come through when you least expect it. Try and beat down as many acquaintance doors as possible. Because you rarely tap them for info they are most likely to have fresh leads for you. GL

That whole “sense of entitlement” doesn’t necessarily come only from the lazy who want everything for nothing, but those who have worked hard and simply have no humility and put themselves above the rest. Is it little envy, jealousy sneaking through? Not sure.

It’s nearly impossible to prove that the employee violated company policy in order to deny them unemployment. It’s not worth the time in many cases, time is money and more often than not it’s cheaper for a small company to pay the unemployment than to fight it.

jrod, whats your field?

I kinda get the impression that the amount of people collecting unemployment income at this time in the country currently consists of a higher amount of people that would rather still be working for their whole income. With that, the amount of people who legitimately can not find work or are currently furthering their education in an attempt to get work again is probably much more than the stereotypical “lazy bum collecting free money” idea implies.

Of course there are plenty of people who are milking the system for all it’s worth, but don’t let that class of people make you prejudge all of the unfortunate individuals who have truly lost their entire way of life because of this economy.

:tantrum::tantrum::tantrum::tantrum::tantrum: seriously stfu while your ahead. you sound extremely arrogent and biased.

on a side note, After being at the emergency room at childrens hospital last night till 5am because my daughter came down with croup i stopped by the ECC one stop job placement center for a 8am orientation. I inquired about going back to school to better myself and make myself more marketable to the workforce and they told me i didnt qualify for any kinda financial aid because i made too much money this year and my job didnt lay off 50% of its workforce. lol

So now i have to find funding somehow by myself if i want to go back to school. Ive already contacted nelnet for deferment on my student loans i have already. maybe ill just keep going to school so i dont ever have to pay them back.lol

I actually crossed trained into the IT field a few years ago obtaining an associate degree with a few certifications. I landed a service tech position job with Siemens installing and servicing CCTV equipment/ access control systems. Dealt mostly with networking and automation programming. I want to concentrate more on the LAN/WAN aspects in the IT field. Tough having an associate degree like I said before. Got a year left to get my Bachelors degree in CIS.

Your absolutely correct, but that is on the company if they decide not to go that route.

You’re getting a 4 year degree to do IT?

Record enrollment at NCCC this semester. Im not sure about ECC but I bet it’s extremely high.
