UPS man was nice to me......

Umm thats not what a BOV does… a BOV vents excess pressure when the throttle plate closes…

so it should be BAERLY open at idle…(vacuum) and it will close under boost…

then when you get off throttle and go back to vacuum, the differance in pressure inside the manifold + vacuum causes teh piston to open and vent the air…

You’re not running a MAFS right?

Speed density?

not speed density, it’s called alpha n, basically no maf or no map, just air temp vs rpm for duelling since it’s a sc… Everybody loves it, it’s how the csl is run

When you get things sorted out, lets go do some pulls. I would like to see where the 335 stands.

going to do the clutch this week now that the stocker bit the dust yesterday, so that + ~ 500 miles

so looking ~ blown euros meetish

+1

that would be a wastegate

I understand the difference between a wastegate and a BOV…

I just thought that all BOVs were 100% closed until the throttlebody(s) closed and the spring pressure was exceeded in the BOV. I guess I was wrong.

on a supercharged car the bov stays open at idle because the supercharger is creating boost. it acts as a wastegate.

that may be true for a roots type car, but this is a centrifugal, and thus the car is pulling vacuum

ok, 4/6 spark plugs seemed to be fouled… whoops

Do you need to change plugs for the SC application…to a step colder or anything?

yes. i should go 1 step colder, but im below, most guys run stock on the non meth kits…

I just went out and bought new stock plugs and put em back in and let the car run on them then took them back out, and 2 of the plugs show NO wear and NO evidence that they were running, so it looks like im down at least 2 coils, which would explain why the car sounds like a subaru… and my garage smells like unburnt gas after i let it idle…

i am going to replace all 6 coils anyways, the car has 100k on it, and these coils are known to be bad…

Hope that helps, where the coils on there way out before FI ? Id just hope it isnt ECU related or anything like that.

That could be from getting too much fuel, could there be any way more fuel is getting past the injector orings?

I ruined an oring installing my injectors in my 240sx, and was dumping fuel past, but they are probably diff injector style

It’s definetly the coils, not fuel related , coils are pretty common on the car, found a set of 6 new oem for 150 shipped overnight

i was totally ready to post in this thread by just reading the title “no boost no care” but you totally surprised me…falkin sweet…can’t wait to see/hear/race it!

Overnighted from japan?!

Connecticut!!!

Boost?
