EDIT - I just re-read the OP. If you want, you can take my bike for spin to help you decide. The plastics are already half fucked anyway because of my brother. Then if someone with a 636 wouldn’t mind letting you ride theirs, you’d be set. I’m sure someone would be willing to.
After riding motocross’ '04 636 I was amazed at how different the two were. I will say that I like mine WAY better for handling and position. Not too sure about the 05/06 636 as I haven’t been on one in a couple years.
EDIT: For your EDIT. Thanks man I really appreciate it.:tup:I hope to make a rt 5 cruise sometime very soon to meet up with you guys, as soon as the weather gets a bit better. Maybe I can take it for a spin then!
Lake Erie is still throwing off some wicked cold when you ride by it BTW.
I’ve been on an 04 636 over a year ago so I would love to try riding one again. Maybe a 05-06 as well:shrug:
so here is what i found for a quick search before my hydrocodone kicks in and i pass out lol…keep in mind for price i left a little room for negotiation above 5500
600rr = great for the track, needs a damper, still has enough power to get you you into the 10s at the drag strip, uncomfy seat, clutch doesnt like to allow 2nd gear wheelies after the first 2 attempts. BUT always been reliable with decent styling. Oh yea, GREAT BRAKES.
636… nothing but good things to say here, comfy seat, great power, reliable, inexpensive in the used market, GREAT WARRANTY options, great styling.
GSXR… older ones were heavy, fat, comfy, 00-03 made decent power for the year, mediocre reliability, etc etc etc. Numb brakes, 04-05 looked great though…
Yamaha… best looking (when the came out) still good looking, decent power, the new ones need their necks rung in order to make power, still look great, 03-05 LOVED TO CLUTCH UP WHEELIES, steering was always twitchy and nervous feeling (without a damper) but JBGTI was still maddddd smooth wit’ it.
