im working with about 1000 dollars. i found a pretty beat to shit mk3 supra NA 5spd for sale for dirt cheap. runs awesome and has a freshly rebuilt tranny but its going to need a good 500 bucks to get it mechanically sound from what i gathered. needs an exhaust, PS hose, all new rotors, and a headlight motor. other than that, the car seemed to be pretty solid, minus the body. theres only one word for the body…haggard. BUT its a rwd beater that im sure ill have tons of fun in the snow with.
option 2: buy somthing like what silver GT has for sale. 89 tracer for 1000 dollars. looks really clean and probably wont need much, if any work atl all. wont be as fun and i would actually not want to bang it up from drifting into somthing. cuz who doesnt like snowdrifting?
do i do the smart not so fun way or just have fun with a POS supra that needs alot of work?
^:word: get something you can use again next winter and not dump a ton of money into for just one season. get something re-usable so you odnt have to get a new one every winter
dude from personal experience, buy the one needing little to no work. Its a winter beater, who gives a shit. plus you can still beat the piss out of it/drift/hit garbage cans/other cars… ie the taurus. the taurus will be sweet this winter and it better last since i just did headgaskets, but it starts everytime and has amazing heat, so itll do.
i have been lookin into cheap e30’s though alot lately…
Being able to start your car everyday to go to work/school, no matter what it is > *
I’m thinking about selling my 94 Corsica…it only has like 67-68K runs great. not alot of rust…paint on the hood isn’t the greatest, I hit a guard rail and had to get a new hood so it is painted to match the car but could use another coat of paint. I bought the paint at pep boys. i’m asking $1,200.00 for the car but for a member I would consider taking 1k. let me know if you are interested. you can post up or pm me.thanks
Tracer, and keep it for awhile. Or the corsica which is like the anti-GM/GM that doesn’t seem to break and with about $10 in paint will look as good as… well a white corsica.
Get a Red WRX? Or not, that would get confusing way too fast.
hey, the z made it just fine, no scratches, no close calls. just a lot of getting stuck and going sideways when i didnt want to. at least it taught me how to control the car better?
im gunna look at the tracer on monday. sounds like a solid car and i think its the smarter choice. i just needed some people to push me in the direction away from a fun POS that will proabably just give me headaches.
How do light trucks i.e. Rangers /S-10’s hold up in winter? I have always had front wheel drive in winter and I liked it. J/w. I am eventually going to have to get a beater, probably wont happen till late October though, when I get my school refund.
