What's going on at Synapse? Weekly updates of projects.

The other Synapse threads have kind of died out. I’m going to start a new one and post weekly updates on what we are doing, what we are building, working on etc etc. I’ll link the old fab thread to this one as well. Since Dom has left and I have graduated welding school in February, many of you know I’ve been hired to weld there. Having big shoes to fill, I’ve been learning a lot from Steve and trying to do what I can. Mainly now it is Steve, myself and Greg at the shop. Morgan is busy continuing his education and is around part time to tune and continue working in normal projects. This thread is intended to post pictures of fab work, cars we are working on, Dyno results and more. Thanks for checking it out.

Some of my stuff from the past two weeks.

I’ve recently purchased a new phone so, I’ve lost a lot of my work. I’ll be posting a lot frequently though.

Our shop 2010 SS Camaro is undergoing winter modifications to complete our Synapse Turbo twin turbo mid mount set up. Will be offered with a few different turbo options, intercooler options and will be mid mounted using either factory manifolds or, our own custom manifolds for those intending to push a lot of power and would like the added features.

We are going drag racing!!

Many associate us with mostly just road racing and some quick street cars. We have finally decided to put our efforts and knowledge into a drag racing car. What better car to use than a Fox body set up for X275?

Waiting in rules for X275 and Ultra Street 2014 but we will be building an LSx motor with a big turbo through a TH400. Motor, turbo set up will all be custom made by us in house. Look for this on the streets normally as well. All purpose vehicle.

I hate Chevy motors in Fords and 3 speed automatics. Not having overdrive blows.

That’s great. Thank you for the wonderful contribution. Given how your mustang worked out I think we’ll just go with our own feelings in what to do. But thanks.

Fuck Mustangs but why not a Camaro if youre doing an LS swap? Or a Monza or Vega?

This is the best chassis set up for what we want to do with it. Small tire drag racing. No one wants a monza or a vega. The car will do very well.

the welds look great. i dont want to shit up the thread but everyone does the ls swaps why not go with a new ford engine? is it a budget thing or what?

It’s just not what we want. We don’t want to buy the ford racing block, sleeves, no heads to use besides boss heads, 4 cams, etc etc etc. ls stuff is proved true. Easy decision and can make 1500hp without breaking the bank.

welds are NASTY!!! holy shit! weld me something will ya

Plus if this is going to be a platform to market services to a different sector of the performance community it is better to use a common setup. Like it or not LS motors are the best bang for the buck out there.

Looks like you’re doing well bud, keep it up.

Thank you. Steve has taught me so much coming from school which taught me almost nothing with TIG welding I’ll never be able to thank him enough. I’ll weld ya whatever you want Eman! Just bring that car by and we will start building something for it.

Exactly. We are trying to break into the game of small tire drag racing and also making parts to supply to those racers. I’m sure the coyote moto will catch on as it does well and gets cheaper but, the quality, strength etc of the LS stuff along with cost, you can’t beat it.

Thank you. Get that GTR up here so we can market some stuff for it! We’ll take care of you if you would like to do some stuff as far as parts go.

Haha. Sounds good. Maybe the first Synapse GT-R downpipes. I am pretty involved with the GT-R community.

More than ready whenever you are. If you want to keep it up here for a few weeks during winter we will obviously store it inside and cover it etc. we’re pretty interested in getting into that community as well so, we can make it happen!

Death, do you guys play around with any of the exhaust cutouts that are operated by boost? Thinking of doing one on the FiST…

Yeah man we can do that. Call the shop and they can set you up with options and a quote.
