wheel hop

big piece of shit has wheel hop. i needs to run digs but i has wrong platform. help. strut blockers dont do shit. only way i think it will hook up is on the track with 10-13 psi in the tires and that shit they put down i think its called all track or somthin? Seemed like it did wonders tho.

get rid of your hoopite then.

didnt see that one coming:retardclap

and what do you drive?

if i wanted to hear an asshole i woulda farted

oh, good one :lol… :wierd

Wheel hop?

Like 3:25?

Get a set of traction bars.

Gear based boost controllers help too.

Wheel hop is parts of the suspension & DT absorbing flex, and reflecting it back.

Stiffer motor mounts, transmission mounts, controll arm bushings, sub frame bushings, strut bushings, etc. All those things allow for a nice buttery ride to the corner store, but dont hold the tires and wheels where you want them when your making alot of tq. Also finding the hardware that flexes, k members, cross members, motor mount plates, frame horns, frame itself… that stuff too.

I am replacing the subframe bushings with aluminum, near solid motor and transmission mounts, solid strut mounts inplace of the hat bushings, sperical solid bushings for the controll arms. The subframe is fully welded, not just spot welded and seam sealed from the factory. it will also be braced to keep it from twisting. controll arms will be plated to start and later we will make some DOM tuber arms.

only thing you want to move would be up and down suspension travel, and then damping and rebound settings come into play to keep that under controll.

drag suspension 101

Bobble strut?

weeble wobble? Do the turkey gobble?

good advice. all the motor/trans mounts are modified, subframe is welded up to unibody… maybe a set of front tires will fix everything.

tires dont really have too much to do with it. not saying they wont change part of it. but wheel hop or axle rap is a suspension chassis setup thing.

shit suspension = wheel hop

well see how they’re bald and overinflated i think it could be a lot of the problem. too much air in the tire makes it spin more than normal and feeds the bouncing from the struts like you said. I think 255 50 16 MT street/drag radials would get rid of a lot of wheelspin…obviosuly that is when the wheel hop is occuring. But you are totally right its a flaw of the suspension to begin with, i just need to try dif things.

haha its not bad like that its fine until full boost and its only off the line/ first gear

somewheel hop is casued by the car at the brink of traction. Between a little too much power to plant but not enough to light them up like john force. Its the breaking traction, gaining traction, breaking traction… and sidewall flex that translates into suspension movement. up and down movement or even front to back, or camber +/-, depends on what will give under the car.
