oh right on
I have to agree with this tom^ if you’re going to turn this in, you better make it worth it.
Sorry to hear man.

New Mexico Governors?
Seriously. They get to deduct the deductible, but if they offer you anything, and you disagree, your first response should be “No, make it like it was.”
yea, they owe you full replacement parts… to bring the car back to like new…
they cant decide how much to pay…
well they said i needed a rider-policy. but im gonna get quotes for a stock setup and for what i had. they gotta do somethin.
Shitty. My buddy in Phoenix had some mexicans back right up next to his house in an attempt to steal his trailer while he was taking a nap on the couch. Then his dog started barking so he got up and opened the the door. When he saw what was going on, all he did was open the door and let his Rottweiler chase after them. It actually got into the front seat of the truck before the Mexicans kicked it out and took off.
UGH, you told them it was aftermarket wheels?
The rider is true if the aftermarket part was an additional component to the car… IE your system was stolen…
it is not true if it is a replaced the stock item. They owe you full value for stock wheels/Tires
That totally sucks Tom. Hope everything works out.
tell them it’s ok for them to replace with stock parts and you’ll accept the loss on the aftermarket parts. chances are the stock parts cost more anyway…
not if they try and use remanufactured rims
4 OEM STi BBS wheels w/o tires:
$3400.
ive never heard of such a thing…
if you bitch enough they’ll give you new OEM parts most of the time… stand firm and tell them you didn’t have “remanufactured rims” to start with and you don’t want them now.
basically just highball them with quotes on dealer letterhead and they’ll compromise and cut you a check for a lot more than $1000.
you can’t even buy new rotas with shit tires for 1g.
true story - expensive aftermarket headunit was stolen from my evo. they would only replace with a factory part which cost even more when I got quotes from the dealer. ended up covering my deductible with the profit after replacing with same headunit.
man those presidents are crafty
Phoenix finally gave you the official welcoming to the neighborhood eh?
Wow that sucks man, I can’t believe the ins. company is dicking you around though. Do you have like a $2k deductable or something?
Same thing happened to me. I had a leased cherokee many years ago. The wheels got stolen with 30k miles on the stock tires and bald as shit. I filed the claim, and called the Jeep dealer and they faxed in an estimate to the insurance company for new wheels and tires @ 50% treadlife. I got a check for like @$2300 after my $500 deductable. Bought new wheels/tires on ebay for $1k + $200 shipping. The rental car a was a couple hundo = almost $1k profit, and the tires were plenty meaty for lease turn-in.
My advice is play dumb with insurance companies always. Don’t tell them you had different wheels, bald tires, curb rash, ect. All you know is you had wheels on the previous night and now you don’t. Always insist on OEM parts, and get estimates to support such.
EDIT: also profited 2 hydraulic jacks and 2 cinder blocks:)
If his deductible were the reason he was getting lowballed, he wouldn’t have a leg to stand on. No, it’s because they’re idiots. Stick to your guns, OP!
fucking cock suckers
hope you get some more insurance money than that.
new factory tires probably cost >600 themselves
I guess those really did look good on your car…
X…
