York Region Police District 5

yeah, just wrong place, wrong time. i drove right by a OPP SUV this morning on my way to work…scary shit, that thing can eat my S13 easily lol

I got an improper exhaust ticket in my S14 while no in any gear…I love it, valid E-test and all.

I get pulled over in my Electric blue Skyline EVERYTIME i see a cop… everything on the car is legit… and with the scilencer in, its quieter then a stock srt4

I obey every law and am polite to the officer(unless he’s an ass) and i haven’t got a ticket in the car EVER!

“is it a race car son”
“no officer its a company show car, just paint and alot of ‘show’ bullshit”
“oh okay”

I drive a mommy/daddy car!
Toyota Camry FTW!
Never got a ticket, been driving for 2.5 years.

Be happy thats its a rare occurance for you guys to get pulled over. In Richmond Hill im on first name terms for most of the officers. One even pulled up beside me and said “Hey, anything new on it this year. I saw the carbon trunk and I tought it was someone else. When did you get it?”.
The sad thing is I had no idea who he was but I remembered he gave me a ticket for having “dim” taillights. Man I wish I wash strret racing, then at least I wouldnt get made fun of for havingg crappy ass tickets such as improper exhaust mount, Dim taillights, and my favourite fake/no seat belt(i have a megan seat belt).

I feel you man.

When I had my RHD sileighty last summer (which I was only driving for 3 weeks before my insurance policy got cancelled for having a JDM vin # and exhaust), I got pulled over by a YRP Van.

I was on Woodbine (south of Major Mack) on my way to work (HWY 7 and Woodbine). It’s POURING rain, and I’m driving the speed-limit, maybe under, in the right lane, shifting at 2.5k. All the sudden the police van pulls behind me, and puts on the cherries. I pull over immediately, and pull out my license and registration.

Two cops get out of the van, and approach both sides of the car. Of course I get a dirty look for sitting in the RHD drivers seat, holding my momo steering wheel. I ask the police officer why he pulled me over, and he told me it was because my exhaust was too loud. Granted, the exhaust was veeeeery loud (no cat, full blitz system), but the way I was driving it from the moment I left my house, until I got pulled over, it really wasn’t screaming (again, shifting at 2.5k, in the pouring rain).

So I tell him that the car is for sale (I point to my HUMUNGOUS “FOR SALE” sign covering the back window), and mention that my insurance policy expires at midnight TOMORROW (which was true), and that I sort of realized I bought the wrong car for driving to work everyday, and that I realized I should just sell it - told him I hadn’t even gone for emissions yet. Cop says he’ll be back in a minute.

Now, an undercover pulls up, gets out of the car, talks to the cops in the van for 10 minutes, then he leaves. At this point, a buddy from work pulls up beside us and asks if every thing’s alright, I give him the “I’m getting bullshitted look”, and he chuckles and heads to work.

So now, the two cops come up to me again, and tell me they’re going to do a roadside vehicle inspection (after me telling them I’ve already passed safety, and showing them the papers). I forgot to mention, the first time he told me to shut the car off, I did, and my turbo timer plays this little jingle for 30 secs. while it counts down to shutting off. He gives me a dirty look and says “didn’t I ask you to shut the car off?” I respond saying “Yes sir, I did - the car has a turbo timer to allow the engine/turbos to cool down properly, see? It’s at 21, 20, 19…”. So he just gives me a dirty look.

So now he’s actually doing the inspection, which consisted of inspecting every piece of glass for 5 minutes to make sure there were no cracks, searching for the vin #, asking me to turn my wheel to full lock on both sides, inspecting my tires, my rims, my brakes, and probably made sure the TEIN sticker on my car was straight. So now he makes me turn the car on, pull up my e-brake (which I did and then he gets in the car and re-pulls it up himself), and then says, “OK, hold your car at 3,000 rpm while I count to 10” …the F$CKER makes me try to drive for 10 seconds while holding the e-brake up, im like WTF!!

So now, once again, he tells me to shut the car off. I shut it off. 10 seconds later, he gives me a dirty look again, as if I’m ignoring him, and I said “Officer, it’s the turbo timer” - his response? “What is this turbo timer bullshit, I don’t believe you”…I show him the timer counting down, I’m like “look, 3,2,1, it’s off!”… I wasn’t being sarcastic or rude either, I was trying to show him how it worked.

So now, he goes to his car, sits there for AT LEAST 25 minutes, before returning. Keep in mind I was on the way to work (luckily I work my own hours, but I was still pissed about wasting time). Oh ya, and he wouldn’t let me shut my windows, and it was pouring rain.

So one of the cops comes back, and tells me “you weren’t lying, your insurance DOES expire tomorrow at midnight”, and I’m thinking to myself DUHH. Then he says “BUT, your temporary insurance slip says August 3rd” (because I had picked up the insurance on July 3rd), however since my policy was cancelled, it expired on August 31st at midnight - which I was completely honest about. So he’s like “I know people like you just drive around with expired shit, so you’re probably going to try to keep driving for 3 extra days, and you’ll show cops your temp. slip” - and I’m like “No, I wouldn’t do that, it’s not worth it”. So he takes my temporary insurance slip, and TEARS IT UP IN FRONT OF MY FACE!!! WTTFFFFFF

I respond saying “now what do I do if I get pulled over on the way to work from here to my office, or on the way home, or any time tomorrow”. Office responds saying “Well, I guess you’ll have to drive to Stouffville then to pick up a new slip for the next 24 hours, won’t you?”…I’m like WTF that’s 45 minutes out of my way, I’m supposed to be at work, BLAHHH (I just kept that too myself)…but I told him I could get pulled over on the way to work from here to the office, he just said “Don’t get pulled over then.”

So there goes my insurance, now he hands me two tickets, one for “illegal muffler” or something like that, and one for “making too much noise in public”, or something to that effect. I told him I hadn’t passed emissions, the car was going to be parked in 24 hours for good, and that I had realized it wasn’t a good daily driver. His response was pretty much enjoy your tickets.

Went to the Tannery in Newmarket to deal with them, the lady ripped them up within 45 seconds. Again, another waste of my fucking time.

Damn I miss boost though…

/end of super long story using the word “so” 100 times…

^^ thats why i record everytime i get pulled over, cause he cant tear up your papers like that!! i would of gotten a lawyer and pull in a formal complaint against the officers involved!

I know. I was kicking myself in the head after…but didn’t have a camera with me anyways.

Dam, I read that all white2abbit…that sucks man!! :frowning:

get their names for the cops that are harassing, that’s for anyone and file complaints & if you got a camera, record it all lol.

So far, I haven’t been harassed in York Region, other than that stop sign thing which is in the works of getting taken car of, so not bad…I’m from Maple but I know around Markham, Richmond Hill, and Thornhill there can be a lot of police pressure.

Try having cops follow you home from work. I had an OPP follow me out of the parking lot of my restaurant all the way down the highway till i reached my driveway.

Next day on my way home i start getting tailed by YRP til i get home. Guys get out and ask me why i swung all the way out to left lane when i made a right turn at the intersection before my street. i told him i turned into right and just signalled to turn left cause my street was coming up and i cant really do anything about it. They ask me to step out of the car and inspect my car, calling my rear strut bar a “torsion bar” ensuring my sparco has a proper base and all my seatbelts work. They were nice and dipped right after but later that week i saw cops prked outside my house trying to see into my garage.

It wasnt a big deal since stuff didnt develop from this but i just find that strange considering i didnt have any tickets on my record at the time.

What did they mean by a torsion bar?

They called my rear strut bar a “torsion bar”.

While they were looking over my car, they mentioned, “wow you have a serious race car here son. You’ve got a racing seat and a good looking torsion bar.”

lol cops are fucking dicks sometimes just gotta out smart them… like that dumb e brake shit wtf is that?

just fight it man, no worries. when things like this come your way, just deaal with it. i’m sure if you fight it…the cop won’t even show up.

Many of us haave gone through this… be lucky that it was a york district cop and not a toronto/peel region cop… holy MF

really i dont feel like toronto cops (scarboro or d.t) hassle you as much cause they got better things to do i assume…for example other night we were at tims in scar a friend of mine was just rev’ing his mr2 (old gas in the tank) and he had just pulled it out from storage since sept so he was reving, and it a loud car. A undercover rolls up with his window down atm the car was in idle ( im sure he heard it before hand) he coasts by us in the lot does’nt say a word looks run plates and moves on to the other group of people hanging out in the lot then leaves… no hassle nothing…if it was york region …i think it woulda been different…

Wow… the e-brake thing is not part of the road side inspection. All that you have to do for the ebrake is apply it and when the gas is applied slightly (1200 - 1500RPM) the car should not move. But it does in some instances due to worn, miss adjusted or glazed materials. The cop was way out of place. If this ever happens again, just say to the cop when he says he is going to to a roadside inspection that you may be recording this conversation to protect your rights as a citizen. They will usually just to a quick check and leave.

This is why I like burlington. Everyone drives 15-20km over the speed limit… If you drive the speed limit or below after 11pm they pull you over and give you a sobriety test to make sure you haven’t been drinking. I have never had problems with the cops here, I drove past an undercover cop… a little fast… and pulled into a tim hortons. He ended up in line right behind me in line, he said he liked my car, it was nice, and not to get it taken away by doing something stupid. I laughed. Then some stuck up chick pulled me over because I had a tail light out. So I go out with her she pointed at it, I smacked the lense and the light came back on. She gave me a dirty look and went back to her car to “check my record a make a note of the incident”. Is it just me or are female officers always worse?

ahaha atleast if they’re hot it a + eye candy while you wait…that just my opinion :stuck_out_tongue: i dont a difference tho a cop a cop some are good some are pricks…

A cops a cop, I still hate em.

^^ditto

x3

though i have not had any issues with them yet! im sure i will this year, bringin out the 180sx with straight through exhaust :/:
