can anyone provide some tips for replaceing a section of rusty brakeline on my winter car, it always leaked but today decided to blow causeing the peddal to go to the floor and stay at the floor it just pumps the fluid out the hole

cut that section out. get those pressure fittings and a new piece of brake line and your done.
so just use a piece of line and compression fittings? ill try that hopefully it isnt too rusty or 2 big of a piece
do i need a flareing tool? i have tubing cutters
well i just finish 2 brake jobs one on a friends car and one on my brothers… both rusted beyond your wildest imagination trace the lines replace the whole thing spend about $15 on brake line $7 on fittings and $40 on a flaring kit go form the mater cylinder all the way back. … You might want to rent a pressure bleeder also… It really isn’t all the hard if you can figure out how to flare. I have a nice bluepoint line bender and honestly i haven’t used it but maybe once i use my $5 bender and it works great. Option #2 save up a few $ and go to a shop and get bent over.

id never go a shop lol, usually my cousin fixes this type of stuff for me but he had a new baby so hes busy alot now, well ill see what i can get and give it a try tommorow, thanks
learning to do it yourself saves you a shit ton of money down to road and makes money on side jobs. Brake lines are as easy as it gets. Don’t forget to take into consideration there are 3 types of flares bubble, double, and standard flares easy to figure out when you look at it goggle magic should help you with any other questions.

Forget the compression fitting idea. 1) it’s illegal and wont pass NYSI 2) its unsafe, comp fitting is a low pressure repair (Under 100psi i think) power bks run closer to 1,000 psi. Has to be a double flare to make it safe

compression idea as bad as it gets, fix it right, or pay somebody to fix it correctly. they are pretty easy to do.
explain the correct way, i just bought a 5ft section of line flareing tool and compression fittings but whats the correct way?
you don’t need brakes…they are over rated.
brake line…flare kit…fittings…unions…teflon tape…bleed brakes…done.

i always use teflon tape on mine…just to be safe…not that my flares arent good just a precautionary…why shouldnt i use it? :gotme:
