ive had nothing but OEM on the truck, i might go with amsoil. this will be the first change with amsoil fluid but still using the 2 filters i have left on the shelf before i try amsoil filter
Honda OEM or else Evokilla has a conniption.
I use Purolator Pure One for my cars and WIX for my TL1000r.
S4 - OEM
200 - OEM (man the dealer looked at me funny)
R6 - OEM
Looks like I like OEM.
Factory German filters are made by Mann, Mahle or Hengst.
Peterson bitches.
I change my oil every 5k. Its easy to remember. 70k… 75k… 80k and so on. Oil and engine technology has come a long way for me to use 1950s oil change intervals.
Fram is garbage, anything else (for the most part) is acceptable. I use Walmart Supertech (good filter) or OEM on the Corolla, and AC Delco on the Corvette.
No matter how precious you think your car is, you’re wasting money going with Mobil 1/KN, as long as you are changing your oil at the proper intervals. Yeah. Really.
Magnet in the oil plug is the best filter!
OEM
mobil 1 or OEM
Not when most of your engine is in the 20th century and is aluminum. :tongue
haha all the important shit is not magnetic. by the time you have any substantial amount of magnetic material on the magnet your bearings have already paid the price. best way is to examine every old fiter you take off. as far as filters go. go oem except subaru.(as per jays05’s testing):thumbup
jays mistake wasnt the filter choice, it was the car choice
To all the people who say go “Oem” do you have any evidence supporting their superiority to aftermarket other than “feeling right”?
Nope, i like the color
Yup definitely the color
I like oem cause they have audi rings on them.
i like oem because that is what is reccomended by the people who put my dumper together
No. Really the only ‘bad’ filter you can use is Fram (or one that Fram makes for another company, IE Quaker State), but even engine failure directly related to junk filters are rare.
Any car on here could use the WalMart SuperTech, standard Purolator, etc, and never have an engine problem directly related to the oil filter. In fact, I refuse to use a Mobil 1, as severl friends have found SAND in brand new ones.
