+1, more leaning on the FC though, ae86’s are very light and own in handling, but on the track, hard to keep up with a turbo car…
If your trying to compare a car thats the same year and almost same weight and looks kinda of like a s13 and is rwd, I beleive there really is no comparison but hey thats just my opinion.
it has no enemies no rivals… it beats them ALLLLLLLLLLLL

in drifting #1 ichibahn drifto car
You are all forgetting the mr2. AW11.
The MR2 is an MR 2 seater (creative naming scheme), and uses a completely different design philosophy. They could have similar performance numbers, but the 2 cars have almost nothing in common
I’d have to agree with the other guys, the FC would be the 240’s closest match. As per model years, not really, but S13 vs. FC, its pretty even. S14s are in a totally different class.
S13 (hatch) looks a lot like an FC, just less boxy, they’re both FR, both offered in 5sp and auto, both priced relatively the same in the Trader, Craigslist and Kijiji, and both have the same potential (even though you have to pay more for the FC just to get it ‘reliable’)
the probe i think would beat a 240, i hate ford as much as the next guy, but top end the s13’s got nothing. one guy mentioned z24’s, close but still slower, civic hatch 1.8 v-tech gave me a good run 1st -3rd but once it fell outa v-tech range, my monsterous 2.4 left him behind!! lol . sunflower gt another i enjoy dishing it out to. 6 banger rustangs keep up intown. the old school hatch rx7 would be probably be the one .
For comparison’s sake:
1989 Nissan 240SX 8.8 16.5
1990 Nissan 240SX SE 8.8 16.5
1991 Nissan 240SX SE 7.9 16.1
1993 Nissan 240SX Convertible 9.6 17.3
1993 Nissan 240SX SE 8.4 16.3
1995 Nissan 240SX SE 8.3 16.1
1995 Nissan 240SX SE-R 8.0 15.8
1988 Ford Probe GT 7.3 15.6
1990 Ford Probe GT 7.6 16.0
1990 Ford Probe LX 8.2 16.2
1992 Ford Probe GT 7.9 16.0
1993 Ford Probe GT 7.5 15.8
1994 Ford Probe GT 7.5 15.7
what do those numbers mean lol^^^
car name : 0-60 time then 1/4 mile time
You also GET way more out of an FC. It has reliability issues, yes, but motor aside, it’s an infinitely better car. Put an SR into an FC and you’re golden.
Fixed
lol KA really is slow
I think comparing a 240/180sx with a ca18det or sr20det vs other cars would be a better comparison. To me those powerplants are how I believe the car was truly designed around, the KA was an afterthought when they decided to sell the car in North America.
Tough call on this one but as mentioned before maybe the Celica, maybe even the MR2s? Most MR2s came in a 1998 cc I4 engines with DOHC and 16 valves trim no? both turbo and NA trim… guess that could be a rival to the sr20? MR2 also has a sleek profile and popups. Probably due to its rarity and availability but I could see these 2 competing if there were more mr2s out there much like the sti/evo rivalry. Both were in production during similar years 1990-1999 for the second gen MR2s comparable to the 180sx’s run.
And I guess if you looked at it at more of a broader scale it would make sense as during that time as mentioned Nissan had the Skyline for their flagship sportscar, Toyota had the Supra to rival the skyline in that market area. The 180sx was to fill in the entry level sports car market for Nissan and I guess you can say Toyota’s offering was the Celica or MR2.
im just so glad nissan didnt put the fucking shift alaarm on a 240sx.
but yes, fc is probably direct. you guys are only saying ford probe as looks wise. there is alot of cars out there that would be a good battle for the 240sx
You guys are hilarious the way you talk down other cars.
s14s compared to the fds? are you guys retarted? the rx7 is in the supra, 300zx, skyline category. Stop trying to markup our shitty 240s. I know we all love them, but that dosent change what they are.
to me a nice coupe is better than a ferrari lol
You’re crazy.
I think a AE86, hatch or coupe
you guys are a bunch of idiots
